Regarding reg marks. They are both the same to set up although the mimaki uses only four marks (one at each corner) that makes jobs over 2.5m near impossible to register at all four marks. The summa printed black squares along both sides and read several marks alone each side allowing for scew. This means it can do far longer print/cut images if required
Other than that I can’t fault it. Brought a second one last year and may swap the oldest one (10 years old now) for a shinny new one next year

I have a Roland versa express and 2 mimaki cutters (cutting is also the holdup)
Never understood why you would buy a print and cut machine unless you are tight on space!
I’ll be honest when doing unlaminated stickers I have the printed vinyl coming out of the printer straight into the cutter parked in front of it doing printing and cutting simultaniously

Did a chapter 8 kit only the other day. Removed the badges and then it was obvious the rear door had seen a trip to body shop
Explained to owner and problem solved by replacing the badge after vinyls fitted. Not gonna be as simple for your guy. His van needs a respray to sort that mess out

it was imported from china (use to speak Chinese, i couldn’t understand what it was chatting about so cut the wires to the speaker)

that is our own lift, brought from a plant machine seller on ebay about 12 years ago, it was originally green and i had it painted black, cage comes of and i load it in the back of a sprinter van
we use it mainly for 40ft trailer wraps and graphics, saves a tone of time!
-
i have done plenty of these in the past, use to buy euro trim frame from robert horne for about £50.00+vat for 6m length, obviously they no longer exist and europoint no longer stock the item
have not been able to find a new supplier for this at a decent price
install should take around 30min on a scissor lift, here is a link to my you tube channel showing the install in real time (25min but that was with tools out ready to go!)

I have definitely had an issue where in flexi the image was one size and then in production manager it was a different size
Not sure how it happened (might be to do with using the size adjustment in production managet) problem is it stores each files print settings so if you go back some time later and reprint. It remembers the adjustment made before and prints at that spec

I got a 160fxll

Only time I ever had this issue was when I left the window open over night or when i left the media leaver loaded whilst not using the printer for a while
Temps look ok

I remember the train scenario when I did your wrap course rob
I always got left to right and like you done so many catering units and 40ft trailers I have lost count. Never had one fail based on vinyl overlaps being "the wrong way round" even my 33ft rv is wrapped left to right and no problems

I have just brought a brand new roland from JOSERO. Been using their inks for a while and they are only 10miles down the road from me so nice and convenient
-
Also the 1604 has internal sub tanks that hold about 100ml of ink. Not sure if the 1204 has these but if they do the cart can be empty and it will run however need to be careful you don’t get air in the ink lines
-
It does have to be a magenta colour card. Stops you from running the wrong colour by accident
-
I’m afraid not. I use triangle inks so it is a JOSERO card
Has the ink actually run out? You could simply swap the cards over just so you can do you cleans. As long as you don’t start printing you will be ok
-
I may have a magenta card spare but my machine is a 1604. Not sure if they are compatible?
-
Solid vinyls all the way. I wrap 40ft trailer on a regular basis and you will always get a banding effect when printing solid colours which won’t look great
Don’t forget to fit the lower color first and allow 10mm overlap so water can’t get behind the lower colour!!!
-
I get this one some files.
When it happens I reduce the ink limit to 80% on the magenta chanel
Probably not the proper way of fixing the issue as it is a profile issue but it does work when greys have a pink tinge to them

MemberSeptember 11, 2014 at 5:25 am in reply to: Installing Roland BN20 to print from signpal pro – help?i have a gcc cutter that i run from signpal, i have had this many years and the signpal software only has drivers for certain gcc cutters that were available at the time.
for day to day running we use flexi 10 on subscription and this program has the drivers for all cutters and printers, past and present he roland machine you mention is on the list so if you want to run this printer from within the sign software you would need to upgrade to a new version of flexi sign
we also have flexi 8.1 and the machine you have mentioned is not in the drivers

After much google and you tube i have finally sorted the problem so thought id share.
There is a setting in production manager called colour correction, with it turned on the colours are wrong, with it turned off they are ok, however turning it off messes up the colours of bitmaps which require this to be turned on.
There is a colour settings menu in production manager and there is a sub menu called rendering intent, here you can set the colour management so that all vectors are "no colour correction" and bitmaps are left as pm settings.
This has sorted the problems i have been having so thought i would post this result for anyone having similar issues
