  • Installing Roland BN20 to print from signpal pro – help?

Posted by JC1520 on September 10, 2014 at 3:36 am

I have just installed signpal on to brand a new computer that was supplied by GCC.
Is there a way that I can print directly from SignPal directly to the Roland BN20 via the production manager.
When I try and add the printer the only options that are available are the GCC products,

I guess this is the limatation of the software that came bundled with my Jag IV plotter.

I am new to this so a bit of guidance would be good.

All your printing on any Roland Machine will need to go via Roland Versaworks Software.

    Thank you.

Yes that is is the way i am doing it now

Is there a way to get the vesa works to excute when i hit print from within Sign Pal.

What is happening to me now is when i hit print i get oversize paper message i have tried to alter print settings to avoid this message.

I want to send my design straight to Vesa works, I am certinly missing some thing I know.

I also have limited internet at the moment to reseach as i am stuck in a paint hanger.

Also some time i have to export to different format to enable me to import to the versaworks print Queue

Sorry to sound thick, thanks in advance.

I believe that Signpal is Flexisign rebadged?………if the only printer options are GCC then is it a cut down OEM version that you have from GCC.

If you can locate Flexisign drivers for the BN 20 and install them into the output drivers folder it may work…..I had to do that with my import DX7 head printer.

As far as I’m aware you will need to set your files up in PDF, JPEG, EPS, or TIFF and then send these to Versa works.

Obviously if you file as a cut line ensure this is added using the Roland Swatch which I’m not sure can be added to the software in question.

I use Adobe illustrator and it can be added to that.

Versaworks is a RIP engine and work separately of any design software.

i have a gcc cutter that i run from signpal, i have had this many years and the signpal software only has drivers for certain gcc cutters that were available at the time.

for day to day running we use flexi 10 on subscription and this program has the drivers for all cutters and printers, past and present he roland machine you mention is on the list so if you want to run this printer from within the sign software you would need to upgrade to a new version of flexi sign

we also have flexi 8.1 and the machine you have mentioned is not in the drivers
