hi shawn you can mail me through the "mail" button I think or email me on Raymond@logoprintedblinds.co.uk
-
hi james, ye I can think of a few scary monsters off the top of my head lol
it pretty much depends if you want to print the fabric and then have a go at making it into a blind or if you want something custom made, I have been manufacturing blinds for about 20 years and got into the printing side about 5 years ago, we use various fabrics to print on from screen to pvc blackout, I would be happy to help if I can 😀 😀 -
Hi Shawn, be happy to help you if I can, do you want to drop me an email or message with your contact details & I’ll see what I can do

where are you finding these "internal pavements" Rob 😀 😀

Hi john, I have sent a couple of boards off to a company in Sheffield, the chap I spoke to said they have repaired them for Roland printers & he reckoned Mimaki boards would be pretty similar to fix, I’m due to get them back this week so I will certainly update as to how successful it is. Not sure if I’m allowed to share the details here as im fairly new & don’t want to fall foul of board rules 😀
-
I have a contact who gives me used ones of these, roll up banners is not something I really do very often if at all. If anyone in or around Glasgow wishes to collect them they can have them free of charge, I can get more if someone can make use of them

Very interesting read, one of the main things I always try & do is ask for referrals, just at that point were you have finished the job & all is looking great, most people that we all do work for have contacts that use our products/services & who better to recommend you than a happy customer

MemberOctober 6, 2014 at 8:11 pm in reply to: Error message 24 i/f initial 14 on Mimaki JV 3 160 – help?False alarm, it’s now not recognising the printer on the PC, looks a lot like the FireWire board, I had same issues around a year ago & got a new board fitted. Couple of things to try in the morning but it’s looks all too familiar 🙁

Hi David, it’s very hard to turn "work" away, it goes against the very reason we are in business. As has been suggested a minimum order value & perhaps a minimum value when you have to install, also a further surcharge for same day service. Next time I am in my local petrol station I’m going to try the same approach as one of your customers. " I bought fuel here 4 years ago can I have it at the same price". I think I know the answer I’ll get lol.
Perhaps you could set a bit of time aside one day a week for these small tedious jobs but emphasise that they are collection only & that is the only time you are able to do them, that way your not turning folk away & not coming over as rude, again as stated above you set out your reasons pretty logically above in your original post & if you explain it that way you’ll find the majority of people will be understanding.
Good luck -
Because my main product is blinds I am a member of the BBSA (British blinds & shutter association). One of the many benefits I get is free credit checks & company background checks. I’m not sure if this is something available through any of the sign/print associations but perhaps if there is any influential members of those trade bodies who read these threads they could see if it’s feasible to offer such a benefit, maybe Rob could explore the possibilities.
The reasons these scams work is despite the many folk on this thread alone who are too "wide" to get caught out there is folk who for whatever reason fall for it, meaning the fraudsters keep doing it. -

Wishing you well, -

MemberSeptember 27, 2014 at 5:46 am in reply to: Mimaki JV33 160 – recently upgraded from the JV3 160.Thanks Stafford, I toyed with the idea of buying another 2nd user machine but when I looked at the overall costs & the fact a new one was coming with a 3 year warranty it was a no-brainer really. Although I still have the iPad mini problem lol
-
HI Chris, i do the printing and assembly of the whole product at my premises, i send blinds out fully made
morning martin, i print on several different materials, from sheer voils to heavy pvc blackout, these are all pre-stiffened fabrics for window blinds
hello Jon, not sure i am allowed to post costs here but i do have a good few sign companies who use our products as an add on to what they do and find there is good margin in offering printed blinds to their clients.
if any of you have specific requirements feel free to send a pm and i will do my best to help
apologies if i have broken any board rules, i am fairly new to posting and may not be up to speed with whats allowed and whats not 😀 -
Hi Dave, I’ve been manufacturing blinds for 20+ years, I was outsourcing the printing for commercial blinds up until 4/5 years ago, I then decided to take the plunge & buy a large format printer, since then I have steadily got busier (& better) with it. It’s now my main source of income, really enjoy the diversity of it, no 2 days are the same lol, done loads of weird & wonderful things with blinds over the last few years. Really like your pics, nice to know I’m not the only "blind man printing" lol

Got a great deal, in fact the biggest problem I now have is the iPad mini that they chucked in has caused mayhem in my house, my other half & 2 kids have all given me several reasons why they deserve it more than me 😀

How did it go? What were the costs? Apologies if this has been answered already, such a large thread to re-read

Lol Vic, I’m probably responsible for a lot of the ones your seeing around Glasgow, if you are ever curious as to how the print & manufacture process works together your welcome to pop over for a coffee be happy to show you how we do it.
-
Hi Vic, we have been blind makers for around 20 years & around 5 years ago I was being asked a lot for blinds with logos on them & decided to invest in the printer & technology etc, we have done the odd sign but to be honest we now tend to concentrate on printed blinds. Is this something you come across?
-
Hi Vic, I’m from maryhill, premises are in balmore industrial estate, lambhill
Are you based in Glasgow? -
hi David, welcome aboard

MemberSeptember 25, 2014 at 7:48 am in reply to: Telling a customer he is wrong – help needed dissuading themAlways a tricky one, the balance of your experience against the stubbornness of his ego, chances are even if you attempt to dissuade him and he doesn’t like it he will still say "your the expert, you should have known better".
Not easy but when i have had this situation in the past with printing onto blinds i always use third party stories " i had a customer once blah blah blah", it protects their ego but also tends to get across that maybe they should listen to your experience, hope this helps but and good luck 😀 😀 -
Hi Petr, nice to meet you, look forward to your contributions 😀
-
hi duncan 😀
hi Karen, sounds familiar lol, i have put some pics up in the gallery, i have a few signmakers on my customer list and would be delighted to help if i can anytime you have a need for printed blinds 🙂 -
thanks Cheryl, we find in busy city centre locations effective signage is no always practical and often contravenes local planning laws, so printed blinds have become very popular
thanks Glenn, i have one in the kids bedroom which says " remember no homework…. no pocket money" lol
cheers Rob, was nice meeting you in Glasgow a few weeks back
-
no problem chris, its an old picture from when i joined originally in 2011, i haven’t changed much except a few stone heavier and a few more grey hairs lol 🙂 🙂
-
hi Adam, i use the 38mm bars as i feel they give the frame more depth, and also look a lot better IMO, i wish you well with your new printer

i had some from sign-master martin, the quality was pretty good, cant remember the price off hand though, i have had some cheaper ones that I’ve purchased on line and there is defo a difference in the quality, i print on a mimaki so i presume it would be pretty much the same on a Roland,
hope this helps
