after having another damaged firewire board in my jv3 (the 2nd in less than a year), i tried on here to find someone in the uk who can repair them. I have sent 2 boards off today and should get them back on friday, i will update the thread with the quality etc of repair, the repair cost quoted is a fraction of the cost of a new board.i am happy to share the details of the company who are able to do the repairs if any one requires them

The only company I have heard of doing printer board repairs are Macmedia in the US.

I would be interested to hear of a UK company doing this.

Hi john, I have sent a couple of boards off to a company in Sheffield, the chap I spoke to said they have repaired them for Roland printers & he reckoned Mimaki boards would be pretty similar to fix, I’m due to get them back this week so I will certainly update as to how successful it is. Not sure if I’m allowed to share the details here as im fairly new & don’t want to fall foul of board rules 😀

Don’t forget there are 2 different types of 1394 board for the JV3 though, ROHS and non ROHS.
