The van is a fiat ducato MWB 120 hijet. It also has a hi roof.

My van is fitted out by a proper electrical company and comes with certificates. Also the fit out with the shelves etc were all done professionally by a fit out company and no corners were cut.

The van also has three seats in the front, air conditioning, grills in the back window, dead locks, blue and me and a metal bulk head.

I know you can buy a cheaper van new, but to get it fitted out and have certification (which you need when attending events and for insurance) is quite expensive, but this is ready to go. All that you need to do is put your heat press, vinyl cutter and sublimation printer in and off you go.

This is effectively a mobile business and not just a van.

That’s interesting Janine there must be a catch, is it free forever aslong as you remain an FSB member?

Yes it it, but the FSB has a lot more to offer than just free banking! I was with HSBC before and also had a card machine. Although the card machine was with HSBC too, I was paying twice – once for putting though the machine and then for the money going into my account!

The problem with ‘free’ like that is that you probably have to pay for it at some time. Quite possibly even more as the ‘free’ stuff has to be removed.

Some people just don’t know, so they!

Before you consider buying the Ballstar system I would hold back for a while. There is a new press for sublimation on the horizon. It is capable of 3D items as well as flat and no moulds or curved platens are requred.
I believe it will take uo to about 7 inches in height. Sprays will be available to coat the objects for sublimation. It uses films to print onto which are placed into the press then a vaccum pulls film over the object.
Best of all, I hear it’s reasonably priced.
    Jim

Thanks for that, Jim. I will wait. Is there a website that I can check out about this?

For a Fast TJet that prints on both dark and light garments, I was quoted around £10k plus VAT (by YES Ltd).

You can print on dark items using a sublimation transfer and cutter system (with magic eye).

I do them all the time and they look OK (I haven’t had anyone complain yet)!

    quote David-Foster-:

The Childrens Hospital could readily accept your gift as they are not a registered Charity (I think).

The childrens hospital is a local charity – not sure if you would have heard of it, when they were building the hospital it was known as Wallace and Gromit’s Grand appeal and they are famous for having their wrong trousers day (Nick park is also patron of the charity).

The difference with the childrens hospital is that I have done running vests for them in the past at a very low price, as that is part of my business.

I wasn’t going to put my logo on it big (if at all), all I wanted to do was just put a small note saying ‘kindly donated by …..’ small and discreet.

With regards to people nicking logos, unfortunately that doesn’t happen to just charities. Earlier this year I did some polo shirts for a company called fompave as they were participating in a dragon boat race. I made a sample up, but the design was agreed without having to send the sample out so I put it on display in my shop. A couple of weeks after the race, some irish men came in and one distracted my mum, while the other stole this one shirt. It turned out that they had been ripping off people in Swindon posing as ‘formpave’ and they wanted that polo shirt. The only problem with the shirt was that on the back it had written ‘name’ instead of a name. It was only when I rang the company to tell then that it had been stolen that I found out about the irish gypsies posing as this company.

    Love…..Jill

I didn’t know that red has less readability. My reason for putting Tel in front of the telephone number was because it looked funny with just a number in the middle and the reason for the phone number in the middle was to split the two different parts (if that is the right word) of the sign.

They want to do two sorts of t-shirts. The first is sublimated with all the details, the second is one colour vinyl, which can be changed depending on the colour of the t-shirt. I have explained it to the customer that using vinyl won’t get the drop shadow and they don’t mind.

I have never had a problem with applying flock to fleece. The only problems is when the fleece is flattened by the heat press, but there are lots of ways to eliviate that problem. The first is, if it is a small area, you use a cap press. The second is by raising the area to be pressed (fabric mousemats are good to cut and use).

When pressing onto fleece make sure you raise the area to press and also make sure you have a good clothes brush to brush the flatened jacket up. Another place that you can buy the flock from is http://www.xpres.co.uk They are a really good supplier.

In coral draw, you can either draw a box round it and then resize the whole lot, or click on the general (arrow) tool and then right click the text and convert it to curves. This then gives you the option to resize.

It takes a lot to become an approved supplier for the government! If you were interested in goverment work you would be better of subscribing to their contracts bulletins (the MOD have a Contracts bulletin).

You do have to subscribe to them and they don’t come cheap, but that is one way of finding out about government work.

Just for the record, schools don’t go through a tender process for their uniform, they usually just give a few companies a ring and then negotiate with one.

I got cought by these, but am in the process of doing them for fraud!

I was promised top ranking in the search engines “within 4 weeks of signing” when they called me. At first I said no, but they offered me a discount. I wasn’t told that there was any monthly fees involved – just a set up fee. I gave them my meastro card for the first payment which turned out to be £211 pounds. When I phoned them, they said that it included the first monthly fee!

With the pack received I got a disc that allowed me to edit my listing. and it also analysed the page to say whether or not the keywords were mentioned enough. I managed to get it so that the programme told me that the key words were mentioned enough. I am still waiting to appear on some search engines.

As they had charged me for the first month (as well as a set up charge), I decided that I wouldn’t fill out the direct debit until I was top of the search engines. I am still waiting. During this time they used my Maestro card to take money from my account without my permission.

I phoned a solicitor for advice and he told me to write to them telling them that I wanted a refund due to the fact the they had failed to perform on their side of the contract (failing to get me to top search engine rank). I also pointed out to the company that they had called me on a phone that had been registered with the TPS and that I felt bullied into buying their product. Their response was that I could have put the phone down at any time (I don’t do things like that). I also told them in my letter that I wouldn’t make any more payments. I was advised by my bank to cancel the issue 1 of my maestro card so they couldn’t use my card anymore.

Two days after I received their reply, and a week after I had cancelled my card, they used my card and took another £23 out without my permission. The bank checked out the details they were using when entering the details and with their online banking system, they were using issue 0 which allowed them to take my money. I have since been refunded by the bank, and of course the fraud squad are onto them. I haven’t received any correspondence from them, but will see if they try and take the money out again.

I now never buy anything over the phone!!
