We use the avery supreme on a weekly basis. It’s honestly the best I’ve used although I do also like the 3m 1080

The chrome only comes in 1220 wide though. Does look good though.
You won’t be disappointed.

Baton and tressells as an alternative. We use these a fair bit. 5metre baton so great instead of moving a low tower or up and down off ladders

Looks like the regi marks we use with our signlab and minaki set up

Ideal Gary. Thanks very much

I have just had to do a similar thing on a recent job I used car catalloy filler and had an aerosol mixed up to the ral number that the tray was.
It’s a bit of a hassle off a scaffold but it looked alright by the time I had finished.
The tray we were working on was less than a year old so the colour was still fresh
The customer actually asked if we could just put little circles of vinyl over the screw holes instead. Sadly I’m not that unprofessional so he reluctantly agreed to fill and coat over but didn’t want to pay for a new sign.

That’s ideal chris. Much appreciated

Files didn’t attach. I will try again

I’m with dave on both counts. White vinyl and 1 piece. It’s not too big to manage on your own and less joins does leave a better finish and takes out any chance to have an error in lining it up

I have been in the sign industry since 1992 and have contemplated going self employed on many occasions but have always had an excuse not to, Family. Security. Bills to pay etc etc. but after finishing the book I feel inspired to get the business plan finished and handed in.
Although I would be mostly concentrating on vehicle graphics I still found all the book relevant.
I’m a local lad too ( Bathgate ) so may try and get in touch to pick your brains.
Thanks again

We use a tar and glue remover from autosmart called preptone. Most car dealers use an autosmart supplier so you should find one easy enough. Soak a rag and wet the area needed to be cleaned. Keep it wet and after about 5 mins use an old squeegee and it will slide off into a Huey paste.
There isn’t really an easy fix to remove old glue. It’s best done during the vinyl removal stage.
Hope this helps.

Try some stainless steel cables and clips from Fairfield They also do a rod system too. Very strong and easy to install. There are a few other suppliers that would do a similar products.

I’d wrap the van in black first avery supreme wrap is good from Robert Horne then apply the print over it
The supreme wrap is a good and really easy to use
I’d use avery 1950 or 3m control tac for the print over the top
Van looks good though.
Post some pics once you’ve done it
😀

I’ve used it Matt, can recommend it although we use it with a solvent printer. Easy to use and I found it gripped better than the 3m control tac but still allowed for replacement.
We use this material quite a lot on our full colour wraps but we have just been offered spandexs new arlon range to try. We got a great deal on a 50 yard roll with laminate. Iain -
Got to agree with the rolls roller. It’s a great bit of lit. We have 2 here. One of the small ones and our much used larger one. Couldn’t live without them now

MemberMarch 17, 2014 at 7:18 pm in reply to: UKSG vehicle wrapping course at Robert HorneIt would be good to hear your feedback from the course. It’s something I am considering also has anyone attended the one at William smith with A. G. G. A ?
I saw him at the open day a couple of years ago and was very impressed. -
Thanks Jamie,
we have been on to Colin Tupman but so far he has been too busy to get up to look at it so need to source another as a working laminator is crucial to us. -
contact east lothian council and get the file sent to you in eps or ai file.
I worked for edinburgh council and we used to do the east lothian work and they supplied the file for us.
