Know them and use them for more than 10 years. Impeccable quality and attention to details.
I was is their workshop for 2 days as an apprentice 3 years ago, learning certain things from them.
Great bunch.Yep, Dave and the lads are top draw!

MemberNovember 7, 2018 at 9:57 am in reply to: Laser Engraver… What sort of machine to go for?I used to work for Gravograph.
They are the best for engraving machines by far but are expensive.
Ive had a LS100 EX for the past 7 years and its a beast.
HPC Ive found customer service was poor for materials so would not buy a laser from them, in my opinion, but that might of changed.
Trotec lasers are decent too.
Id suggest only looking at lasers with U.S laser sources in. No glass tubes etc. -

I have found this that might help others but I havent had chance to set it up yet. Its a script that runs in illustrator so sequential numbers can be inputted.

MemberJuly 1, 2016 at 10:31 am in reply to: Recommendations on purchasing a laser engraver / cutter?Hello all,
We have a Gravograph which are usually more expensive but really well made.
Try to get one with a red pointer for settting up. Will save you tons of time.
There are cheaper lasers with cheaper less reliable glass tubes which I would’nt touch.

I know this is an old thread but are the flurescent corex boards still suspectable to fading? Im looking for 200 A5 sized yellow or orange. Dont fancy flood coating that many.

Its a metallic blue as background.
The text has loads of tiny sections which will be a nightmare to weed but we like the effect of the font so want to keep them.
We could print but not sure how to just get the contour outline.

MemberOctober 29, 2015 at 3:45 pm in reply to: Fixing dibond signs to scaffold poles – advice please?Hi Kev,
We have to replace/ repair a couple of existing boards as well as make a few more.
I assume the usual way is to rivet channel on the back and then bolt onto that for the new ones?
Not sure how to secure existing boards to the poles however. They are just cable tied on at the moment which wont last a minute.

We are engravers and use Engravamet. They are reliable and cheaper than most

Ive managed to get as far as creating variables in illustrator only to find that Rasterlink doesnt allow me to nest print and cut files. grrrrr
I now cant figure out to simply cut and paste the variables into illustrator as it keeps mucking up the layers!!

Thanks Phil,
To add to your second point about following up quotes I’ve started using an app called "sidekick". It lets you know when a email has been opened and reopened so you can always be sure the recipient of the quote has got it and has read it. You can then strike while the the fire is hot as it were.

Thanks Colin. Yep Windows did an update….
Which is what I thought might have caused it.
I need a solution fast as we’ve jobs on the go.
My only idea is to uninstall software but I’m unsure about deactivating the machine etc and not installing it back properly

Hi Martin
We are engravers predominantly so I imagine its traffolyte. We have extractors for the engraving machines but they dont get everything.
I need to look at the floors too now you mention it. Its a concrete floor so might look into a vinyl flooring solution perhaps. -
Cheers Paul
Thats what need thanks

Hi Derek,
I used to sell laser engraving machines until I saw the light.
Gravograph have the best build quality and if you can afford them Id go with them. They do a newer, cheaper version (with gl;ass tube) thats s’possed to be good.
C02 laser cutter will cut out stencils no problems in acrylic, card, paper, plastics (not PVC), wood, rubber and more.
Drop me a message if you want more info.

Thanks Kev. Will try the poster paper route.

MemberFebruary 28, 2014 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Creating cut lines and bleeds with Rasterlink & CCHi Andy,
Thanks for the reply.
Its not a particular logo as such. Its a general tutorial we are after.
Just to cut out ariel text in black leaves a white border when cut.
Ive tried creating 2 layers and getting a bleed line but never seem to get it right.

Cheers fellas.

Thanks Dave,
We only need it initially to mount designs onto Ali board, pvc or foamex so cant justify shelling out 3-4k for a heated one just yet.

Hi Mart,
I’d recommend using a 1/4 " cutter if you have a collet spindle for the IS400.
Intaglio works best for larger width cutters
