We have a streamline terminal in place as we do a lot of work for companies that have purchasing cards.
Recently had an enquiry for 1000 sheets of engravers brass over the net and they said they would pay by credit card if the price was ok.
Quoted and got the job then was supplied by the customer, two credit card numbers to split the cost over the two. Both were in the same name so we keyed them in with the card numbers, security codes off the rear + the numbers in the postcode of the delivery address (Peckham in London).Payment with authorisation went through so we sent the goods.
1 month later, gets a letter off Streamline saying customer has not authorised these payments so they are taking them back out of our account. £3500 👿
Streamline say we take our own risk taking credit card payments over the telephone/net. What’s the point of bl00dy authorisation codes.
PS Now in the hands of the fraud squad.

MemberJanuary 12, 2007 at 8:30 am in reply to: Convert OpenType Font into Omega/ComposerHad a thought last night, with the gerber software you should have font designer. Inline each character of the font for the correct strength then save each one into one file then use font designer to make up your own true type font. When this is done you could then go to ttf convertor with no problems. Long winded I know but when your in a hole 🙄

Worth a shot though thanks! 😀If it gets you out of a hole, do a minus outline to get the strength of character you need.

Don’t you have the facility on your design programme to outline any of your fonts?
Looks like Arial with an outline put on it.

James, beware, quite a lot of companies only sell this by the roll ad at £9-£10 per metre, it can kill the job. A&P display will sell it by the metre. If you only need a small piece, PM me and I may be able to sort you out.

We use anti-graffiti film on a regular basis and buy it by the roll and apply by hand, no machine necessary.

How about only buying 2 cartridges and remove 2 inks, insert the 2 cartridges and draw through with a syringe until pulling through clear.
Repeat with other inks and you will use far less flush than the mahine would use doing it mechanically then leave the heads in soak.

Welcome Chris,
Enjoy the boards. If you are stuck on anything, the ‘search the boards’ facility at the top of the screen will probably find you some help if the subject has been broached before. Everything from which printer to go for to who’s the board’s most prolific boozers 😀 (That’s Nik and Marcella by the way :lol1: )

Send me your cheque book, building society book and any cash you have NOW and i’ll help you resist temptation 😀
-
Can you hold out until May Lorraine?
At Sign UK you will have all the machines there and with each one competing for their share in the market, you should be able to get a great deal. I bought a couple of things at the show last year and got 20% discount on list price so it may be worth holding on.
