just a general question to see if i have found the reason why my ink levels have decided to become unreliable.

in my old unit the machine was moved every day or many times only about a foot to load vinyls and never had a problem with the reliability of the level system.
since being in my new unit the machine is never moved and the level system has caught me out a few times. is this coincidence or a possible reason.

if people have a problem is the machine ever moved

or do people find the system unreliable anyway

    hi chris
if you take a cart out for whatever reason and push it back into place as before the ink level returns back to full i think. obviously this buggers up accurate readings as the cart becomes empty.

yes rob it will do that but should settle to its correct reading after a while.
sticking out the side of the carts is a thin bit of plastic that sticks out further as the ink is used the machine reads this depth and tells the user how much ink is left in the cart.
as my machine was moved quite a lot it would have had some vibration which would have helped the sensor ?.

just wondering how many people have problems with levels.

Chris I thought the tab only made a micro switch contact when empty, I didn’t think it had anything to do with ink levels other than that.
I think the ink level is roughly calculated from the amount of printing done and the printer keeping a track of how many times the head has fired.
