My CE5000-60 will not work through a hub at all, it has to be direct to the pc usb port.

Why not use a piece of dibond fastened to the uprights. I agree it needs another colour, wold look better with a bit of white.

OK no problem, it’s for Komori UK themselves so I’ll see if they can get it from Japan, seems daft buying it just for that. Many thanks anyway (a virtual pint on its way to you)

There’s only the 1100gs on BoW. I’m also after this (1200) and the 1150 if possible.

Thanks for the replies. I do not have a vista usb driver on my disc so usb to usb will not work (despite the device being recognised by the pc). However tried a usb to serial converter and then serial to the cutter on one of the com ports and hey presto. But when I tried through a usb hub (due to using up all the usb ports on the pc) it would not work, but at least I can get some cutting done.
The wonders of modern computing eh?

No reply back from cadlink yet. Should be able to PM soon as I just joined.
Very frustrating day trying for hours to get the ***** thing running. I do have an older cutter and pc standing by (steam powered) but today was wasted.

Glad its fixed, I have only ever replaced one carriage motor (and I’ve worked on lots) and that was due to the end of life counter showing. The main problem with the 10,000 series is banding, something Epson have improved on the latest machines. Any way your away again, give me a shout if you need anymore help.

I already prepared and flatted it all, just wanted one solid mid blue color blowing over. The guy was supposed to be a friend of a friend. Didn’t need to match anything that’s why I thought maybe wrap it. Managed to load it as my avatar so you can see roughly what shapes involved, only the fairing and wheel arch (seat is already solid blue).

Is the paper nice and flat against the platen, check your vacuum make sure of no leaks around the platen. Check the paper thickness sensor also its at the top and sees the flag whn you move the paper load lever backwards and forwards.

There is a service menu where you can do stronger cleaning "KK1, KK2 etc" from memory. I think you may benifit from a maintenance kit which is new flushing box, ink pump, waste tank etc. I am trained on 7000, 9000, and 10000 series but the smaller one is almost the same.

    Done it!!!
Got a signpal puma 2, just been playing so far (the other half wont let me set it all up in the spare bedroom until after xmas in case we have guests).
I got the signpal apprentice version software with it but it seems very basic and a lot of features missing, so will probably upgrade to something else later. Also got corel draw 12 and illustrator (can I export directly to the cutter)? .Not really had time to experiment yet (normal work keeps getting in the way) so dont laugh if I sound thick. 😳

unless you have lots of work its hardly worth investing in all the equipment and consumables to do your own printing, you would need a small 4 colour press say A3 size (approx £200K new for digital, from around £50K second hand conventional litho ) guillotine and maybe a small folding machine, Mac with quark for design, RIP probably photoshop, ink paper solvents etc, then someone to run all this (skilled printers would look for around £30-£40K pa) The industry itself is cutthroat with everyone trying to undercut each other just for the work (:)
Just go down to Kwik Print or those mentioned above etc if you want my advice
