    also,
if you have already installed ‘user defined’ palette in corel, you can choose blue from that palette, or fill your object or text with r:0 g:0 b:255
now, when you going to print, in printer driver choose spot colors, mark blue color
you will see – printed color is gold, but if it’s not clear print work you need to change bar-code label at the bottom of cartridge
how to make any bar-code label, you will find searching this forum section

    have a nice day
    … and night

    also,
don’t forget to copy color palette ‘user defined’ in corel directory (all instructions about that in manual)
now you can use ‘cutcontour’ color in corel colour menu /menu where you choose kind of line, thin, etc./
    one more thing:
you can use lines thinner than ‘hairline’ – i always using thinnest possible /like 0.001/

    one more thing:
working temperature in the room can be problem also
in early morning when temperature in your room can be little lower then for example 10 degrees then happens wierd things when print
or in hot days ( if do not have good klima-system) when temp is more then 27-28 in my case have not good looking print jobs or repeatly break ribbon tape

as you see when start to cut/print your wheels for rolling vinyl need about 20 mm each (left wheel 20mm and right same)
so your working/printing area is 380-40= 340 mm
do not forget: take a space for print-head when working – let have a some free space to left/right end of vinyl

this happen usually when print-head is changed or other base part
you need to set new print-head alignment to cartridge holder
the procedure for this use buttons on control panel of printer but i did not know all steps

    Steve,
Corel need to have one specified ‘color user’ file where you have all ribbon colors PC600 can to print
there is also color ‘contourcut’ – you must use this like contour color and thickness less then 0.01
also, for example, you can select, in printer driver, red spot color to print with red ribbon to save money /don’t print with magenta and yellow/
i have excellent results when print with white, silver and gold ribbons, very very nice on dark vinyl

    one more thing,
if you go to backside of the printer you can see the long wire which drive whole print-head unit
so, one little screw hold the wire in start position, a maybe problem is in this position, cause sometimes wire can go a little on left or right
if screw is not in good position, print-head stay on wrong position when you finish with printing or if you have problem /in your case cant take the cartridge, then start beeping and go back in left position/
if the head not correctly positioning in start position all guilt is ion screw
to solve that try to pull wire on left or right and fix the screw better / if screw is damaged find new one/
carefully, first, you must check this very well and be sure if it is the problem

i have PC600, e never use wax ribbons
i also have a few APLS, OKI, CITIZEN ribbons /looks like Roland wax/
is posibble to print with it on vinyl that i normaly use with resin ribbon, like some Orafol, Multifix series, etc?

Roland use Alps licensed technology for printing heads for PNC and PC printers, that mean its very simillar, like heads used in Alps printer, but i dont know did some can wrong when i use Alps cartridges. maybe, waste my printing head?
as i know, wax ribbons uses for printing on transfer for t-shirts

    yes, dennis
that is one slow method, jumping around printer changing cartridges, lot of possibilities to something go wrong
my PC600 can use 6 colours /placed inside the printer/ but, i have only 5 different barcodes /by that barcodes, on the bottom side of cartridge, the printer know wich color is in cartridge/
so, i have a lot of refill tapes and empty cartridges, and need to know how looks barcodes for other colors /red, blue, green, orange, white,…/ to make my life better then now is
    for now i use barcodes only for cyan/35R/, magenta/34R/, yellow/33R/ and black/32R/
ops, as i remember you have Summa DC3 printer, and maybe that what i say sounds to you difficult
    also, thanks for your post

depends how much is strong UV from sunlight in your region

May 30, 2006 at 11:47 pm in reply to: Roland FJ50 print quality problem(black ink only)

i can tell few words about the problem, so read carefuly cause my eanglish is not so good
    so, …
you know the main method to print in printers with liquid inks, is going to warm ink, making wanted preasure in small tanks in print-head and blowing ink, after that stop warming ink – the preasure go low, and at the end drying printed ink and material
when the some print-head /for example: black/ have a lot of to print in one pass, but with just few blank fields or fields with not much print, after print-head stop warm ink but only for short time, and when need to print again must warm quickly /cause need wanted preasure/, then is possible the head get unwanted small preasure /or air/ on exits /where ink go out on paper/ and you can see, on your printed material, small points of ink
that also can happened when is temperature so high for long time /over 30 C/ in room where you working
that never happened when the print-head is new
to solve problem you need to make hand-pump with gummy-baloon like, and tube with small diameter to go out rest of air in print-head
that is my expirience with DGI true solvent printer and simple solved problem
maybe my explanation is not so clear /language barrier/ but if that help you post better writed explanation for others

    have a nice day

but, in case when need more colors it will be nice to have 6 different cartridges in printer
    so, i need more barcodes
simple, look at your cartridge and post that what you see /example in upper post/
    and one more thing:
maybe i need ready, for example, one blue, dark blue, light blue, red, dark red, … in cartridges with different barcodes
so i need to know look of barcodes, to make it, i will print metalic silver on matt black vinyl, or you have any better idea?

    yeah
but if also the big preasure is there
can be a big Bang, not just a start
that is reason for waiting in this case
looose 1 day, but its just a sunday

today my friend in germany tells me about resin ribbons for 3. euro
sounds very good, but must check information
and i dont know much about what is possible to get in europe /producers, prices, …/
when i buy pc600 i also get 70-80 resin ribons with it
few original cartridges, a lot of refill tapes without any name, and few OKI /black ribbon/, CITIZEN /yellow/ and ALPS /metalic cyan, metalic magenta, silver, gold/ and over 50 used cartridges
can i go to print with that OKI, CITIZEN and Alps ribbons?
un-named ribbons i used for printing on cheap vinyl and looks very well /spot colours/
also i havent any cartridge for RED, GREEN, ORANGE and BLUE
so i dont know how looks the barcode label on that cartridges

    hay nik

you mean when transit mashine form the one place to the other /and happened cause jumping in the back side of truck/ is it correct?

in my case, that happened when printing, when print head didnt finish to pick up cartridge from front cover, actualy head got the cartridge but not both side, left side is out of wanted place in head, mashine stopped and start wit beeping and flashing LEDs
i open front cover, beeping stoped, turn cartridge back in place on front cover, and close cover – everything looks ok
print head start to move to left corner /to clean or whatever/ but cant go to the end of left side, mottor continuely try to drive head to wanted place but didnt make it, all time i heard ugly noise
did you heard that noise in your case? /not beeping/, when you turn ON main power switch and subpower button, or after short moving head nearly left corner place

    Chris, thanx for posting

yes, it is that what i do next, but stil wait for someone who had same problem – some advice before opening a protecting panels on mashin

    thanx again

    p.s.
i am almost 9 years in grafic production, and over 20 years with computers and electronic, also making design for different kind of printing /offset, screenprint, digital print, also doing signmaking by myself/, so i have lot of expirince with printing mashines with different methods of printing and wait only for few words about my problem, thinking how that prob is not so big

another try to move head to left side by hands, but looks like something stop or make limit to the mottor and no way to move more left
i push litle stronger- head go 1 cm more, then go back 1cm – tension on wire on back side do that
    any idea?
