Hello Hugh Oh I’ve been around for years. and myself I use corel and always digitize by hand it’s more accurate than all that editing after a auto trace.

MemberSeptember 23, 2005 at 7:58 am in reply to: should sign makers have a formal certificate? In my opinion the consensus is that a bit of training wouldn’t go a miss for all the newbies. Quality of job is the most important thing good design & manufacture. Maybe the sign board should start it’s own training program for all the newbies. Therefor giving them a good sound starting block also why not make our own sign design & manufacturing guide that could be available on line for anyone who needs help.

MemberSeptember 21, 2005 at 2:50 pm in reply to: should sign makers have a formal certificate?😕 I’ve no certificate but done it for twenty years as they say you learn from experience. Was the British sign assoc. not trying to enforce some kind of fixing certificate to ensure the safe erection of signs but that was a couple of years ago.

😕 Phil there is always room for a talented sign-maker but I do agree sometimes it does seem like the old west at times. Charge by the metre and don’t go down the cheep cheep line Quality is what is needed Quality product and a cracking good design.
