Ornate Hanging Sign
Does anyone know where i can get a hanging sign bracket and blank board made, as per the picture.
I know of suppliers that do hanging signs and brackets, but they all seem to be made of plastic or are too modern looking.
This one is, (hopefully) going up in a very old fashioned street, and they have pretty strict rules about what can and can’t be erected.
I know a blacksmith could make the bracket, but i’m just wondering if anyone knows of a sign supplier that still supplies the bracket and sign blank of the old fashioned variety.

I doubt if you will get something of that quality off the shelf.
The blacksmith route is the way to go, for the bracket. For the panel you could get a local carpenter involved, although it is not that difficult to make yourself, if you have a router and a few basic tools.
Use hard wood for the frame, and marine ply for the fascia (or a good alternative would be foam filled fibreglass, as used for commercial trailer sides if you can get hold of an off-cut)
Prepair well and then. primer, undercoat and paint using something like Dulux weathershield

2 blanks can be made back to back. but they do not offer the same shape as you have pictured. ( make sure you ask them to bond timber in the top for the hanging hooks, and bottom for a bit of weight)

i agree with pete, a blacksmith, or as i sometimes use, a local steel fabri business down the road, never had any probs with them, costs tween £20 – 40 for the ones i have made (depending where the money goes i think !), though something that big, i wouldn’t expect much change from a roll of fivers !
