Big Thanks to Robert!!!!
Posted by Marcella Ross on May 3, 2007 at 4:11 pmI’d like to say a big THANK YOU to Rob for arranging a great time at SignUK.
The food was excellent!!!!!!!!!!! A great restaurant Rob, well done. Elton was a bit like Larry Grayson, but hilarious and VERY entertaining. 😀
I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates all the effort, organising and planning you’ve done.
So thank you. :thumbup2:………… can’t wait for next year. 😀
I’ll save all the gossip until friday night then spill the beans 😉

I have to second that 😎
Rob really went the full 9 yards to make this a great trip for all of us and I for one am very grateful and happy to have met all you great people.
Thanks again Rob and to all those that made me feel welcome.
cheers
Warren

quote Warren Beard:Rob really went the full 9 yards to make this a great trip for all of us
Warren
Yeah and we all went the full mile getting there…… I still blame Dave for leading us round in circles :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
Seriously……. thanks Rob for the great night and thanks to everyone who made it a great trip
-
couldn’t agree more good food good company brilliant well done Rob and thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us all "well done that man"
Lynn xx

How do you get outta Birmingham!! Taxi’s wont let me in the front door!! 😀
Everything was just the business Rob, it was a great day and night, cant get over how friendly and entertaining you all where! When can we book for next year!
Thanks for a great effort Rob hope to see you all again next year. -
quote Harry Cleary:How do you get outta Birmingham!! Taxi’s wont let me in the front door!! 😀
………… that was hilarious Harry …………..watching you try to open and climb in the front of a hackney cab………. the booze had nothing whatsoever to do with it of course. 😉
-
😳 😳 I kept up the act of being sober for too long! Something had to give 😀
-
Absolutely agree. Rob couldn’t have done more to make sure this was a great time for everybody. So much time and energy (not to mention expense) was put into ensuring we all had a good time.
I even enjoyed Elton John ..a bit 😕
-
well it sounds like you all had a wonderful time in the city
I had to drive home for work this morning no rest for the wicked
mind I did bump into a few of you in the show at the baroh well there is next year
😥 -
robert. very well done although I told you that about an hour as me and rob was doing the real signuk thing and looking at the printers
elton did my head. any chance you can charlie chaplin next time. but we managed quite well in lsq consideriing the host left me to it to guide the flockbtw. still at birmingham new street
-
yes fab and well worth going, just walked in the door at 18.45 and ready to drop! oh and my bike has been found but it might be a right off.
Cx -
Well done to Rob for organizing what sounds like a brilliant do. The day was great fun too, and it was good to meet everyone.
-
Yes, it was good to meet everyone and it was even worthwhile going to tour the show – saw lots of really interesting stuff.
Rob’s organisation was great and made everything so easy.
And Elton was OK – he had a hard shift entertaining us when we really wanted to chat and drink.
Thanks a lot Robert 😛
-
Ditto all the above.
Looking forward to Friday night gossip!!Got home after running out of petrol on the bike 😳 😳
Peter
-
I can only echo the above sentiments.
Top job Mr. Lambie.
Put me down for next year, and those of you who couldn’t stay over have exactly one year to organise your lives a bit better.*
* not applicable to Martin and others where it was due to circumstances beyond their control.
added on edit: Peter, I can post you a gallon of petrol. Where are you? 😀
-
Absolutely Brilliant time with the ‘ol bunch
Great to meet up with everyone again
Has some real good laughs at the bar and at the LSQ2I thought Sir Elton was very good although we couldn’t quite (chat.)
But brilliant entertainment
And what can I say about the food? It was delicious
I thought it was good to see that the chef was out and about to look after us
Buffet seemed to be the easiest solution for us allIt turned out brilliantly ……..
so a big THANKS to Rob for the hard work for the weeks of worry to get it sorted for usSomeone sort out a Sat Nav for Dave though :car:
-
Well I can only echo the sentiments of all above. well done Rob. For me it was excellent to meet everyone, such a great bunch of people. Wish there was more time to meet all the people I just had the chance to say hello to.
We all had a great time, even Rhona and Sharon who don’t really drink. I had to give up around 1am – Long day, but I’m sure that next year will be fantastic.
Thanks again to Rob, and everyone who made it such a friendly event. -
im back now… i took the wrong turning from Tiverton Parkway and headed for Exeter and then realised it was the 3rd exit. I must remember that
-
-
quote Dave Rowland:im back now… i took the wrong turning from Tiverton Parkwayt
Quelle surprise!
😀
-
You sure that isn’t a joke Sat Nav you bought there Dave – Alison’s still got the blisters on her feet after our mammoth trek to the restuarant 🙄
And we all just followed you like lemmings 😕
-
as i said before, its a jpeg map from this forum but I didn’t know where the motorway was and lambie dumped us. Also Warren had a sat nav sat in his pocket so he told me!!!
-
quote :Also Warren had a sat nav sat in his pocket so he told me!!!
Are you sure he wasn’t just pleased to see you??
-
Dawn u cheekie little one…. get ready for next year john and dawn
-
Yes well done Rob, I had a brilliant time – roll on next year.
I keep remembering bits and chuckling to myself. Doesn’t sound so funny when you describe Harry and the taxi, charcoal drawing on a random person and meeting Sir Les Patterson to a sober partner when you get home.
Cheers
Hugh Jarse -
When are you going to get yourself over here Shaney? That would be brilliant. Alternatively we could ALL come over to see you. I bet Rob would pay our airfares.
-
quote Andy Gorman:When are you going to get yourself over here Shaney? That would be brilliant. Alternatively we could ALL come over to see you. I bet Rob would pay our airfares.
aw mate, may have to get a second mortgage on the house… the wife is on my case now to see your part of the world, and meet the people that keep me up late and chuckling like an idiot in the study 😮 when she is watching the telly :lol1:
-
thanks a million for the comments everyone, i really enjoyed myself meeting up with you all… had a great time, everyone of you were great company. i keep thinking about stuff and laughing… watched Andrew Boyle on you-tube just there and found it hilarious, reminded me of about 3 or 4 of us making squelching noises with our mouths saying 7 eleven… :lol1: sorry, i know that wont make much sense to anyone reading it… (you had to have been there) :lol1: :lol1: 😳
maybe next year? 😛i deliberately never used the site to promote us all meeting up simply because less than 1 week after i mentioned privately to various members that had said they would like to meet again after last year, all 20 of the hotel rooms i had reserved for us were took and i found it hard to get another bulk booking of rooms without having to commit to a contract.
anyway, till next year everyone! 😉 :lol1:shane it would be brill if you could join us all next year mate… 😛
-
quote Shane Drew:Sounds like a great time was had by all 😥 😥
We all had a ball!
Thank you Rob for all your hard work, it was fabulous, even ‘Elton’ was good, despite the loudness of his music.
I think it is a credit to the way Rob’s site is run, that a group of people who are competitors in business can all give so much to each other, in so many ways.
Cheers Rob!
-
he was pretty loud Lorraine, i think its probably because it was setup in a restaurant and hes probably used to large function halls and that kinda thing. im just glad we switched to Elton from Abba at the last minute. 😕 :lol1:
the restaurant manager said there was 43 of us in the restaurant, which isnt bad considering allot that met up at the show couldnt stay behind for the meal. martin cole, Richard Urquhart, john harding, ian johnston, Andy Gorman etc etc
thanks also to debbie astles of grafityp, peter horner from ezy-taper, Cameron Steer and i forget the other guys name from Europoint for joining up with the rest of us. 😀
-
Well done Lambie!
What a great crack that all was.
I got back home lastnight about 9.30 after packing up the ezytaper stand etc.
Probably the best laugh I’ve had in years!
Can’t wait for next year.
Great to meet you all finally as well – seems like much more of a sign family now!
Cheers
Joe -

We dropped her off at her car when we left Edinburgh Airport ………. she was struggling and was wanting to go and lie down!!!!! I think she will surface in a day or two. 😉 -
It was lovely to see those of you that I met, my first sober Sign UK, I feel all jealous with all these stories that are flying around! Glad you all had a fab time though! 😉

hey friends, any chance of getting names put to people in the photos. Some are obvious, but others…..I’m battling to put a name to a face 😀
keep the photos coming though… with names of course 😉
-
just to reiterate what i said on the other thread,
i personally had a brilliant time, was great to meet you all, what i found funny was that by 3am, i coulda carried on til dawn, but by 5am i was awake and wishing i’d not carried on at all !
next year is a definite, even the mrs said she’d come, says she missed me 😳 (keep a check on me i suspect !).
anyway, big personal thanks to Rob, and all concerned who helped make it a fantastic, and now unmissable event.
i even got to see the show of thursday, though i felt like death half the day, wore out my trainers, and have longer arms than when i went in !
-
