    a quick update on this

My crate left Hong Kong airport yesterday and should clear customs in Glasgow airport on Monday or Tuesday………..the actual weight of the crate was 114KG and I had paid for just under 100KG….so got an invoice for the extra 14KG today….$66……….interestingly the email appologised and hoped I would understand and be able to paypal the money ( which I have done) …..very polite and respectful which considering that the crate left them last Friday is a refreshing change from UK companies who hold you to ransome until full payment is made.

Mods please feel free to move this thread to an open forum if you feel that it is appropriate.

I thought that you could dye sub print onto part cotton/polyester? Or onto coated material?

Same company………two websites. They are an Alibbaba.com gold supplier.

Warranty was something I took into the equation…….hence the spare heater element for the mug press.
At least the long warranty suggests that they have a bit of confidence in their products………..

The manufacturers warranty is 3 years on the heat presses.

I received another email……the shipping agent will collect today and deliver to Hong Kong airport by road but will not catch tomorrows flight and the next one to Glasgow is Wednesday.

The final crate weight is 103 kg (the shipping cost was calculated on 100kg) so they have asked if the aircraft company charge extra would I be able to forward this to them which if fair enough.

Well………….I was told my goods would be ready today so intended emailing to check but don’t need to as an email was sitting in my inbox telling me that everything is ready for dispatch and the freight company will collect them this afternoon.
I have requested a tracking number and a copy invoice to be included in the package to confirm the value for UK customs.

    So far so good 😀

The bottom line is that a profile ……for sublimation or large format printing means what you see on screen is what your output looks like whatever you are printing onto…..colour correction.

Wherever you buy your ink from there should be profiles available to download from their support site,

Some ink manufactures do not have profiles……hence my interest in a ‘custom’ profile.

Is there a big difference in final print quality between 4,6 and 8 colour printers?

Is there any difference in the quality of inks? They all seem to be around the same price…..Do the profiles differentiate between the medium you are printing onto?

Sorry Harry when I said ‘spent’ I meant people spending money on them (clothes etc) and not treating them like dogs.

A trained dog is a happy dog.

Dogs are pack animals and need to have a well defined structure to live in.

Any clues as to what type of dog you are thinking of? Big/small…..little exercise/lots of exercise etc.

    Sorry for the hijack 😳

The strange thing is that this is big business……….people will spend BIG money on their dogs…for all the wrong reasons 👿

as a dog trainer I find it very odd……….and the worst behaved dogs are the ones who have the most spent on them………work it out for yourself!

April 24, 2008 at 8:18 pm in reply to: Sign UK – what did you think of it?

I have to say that I enjoy the Sign Uk experience………..

The stands can only display what they have……….in 12 months there have been few quantum leaps in singmaking…………so the Mimaki JV3 is now a JV33…….the Soljet looks sleeker and has updated firmware……..not really something to get overly excited about.

……….However interesting as it is to see the latest kit ,( even is it is only last years updated! ) we go to meet friends old and new, make contacts with suppliers that normally you email or speak to on the phone, talk to people who know the real story behind products and what it is like to deal with the suppliers when things go wrong……….only so much gets posted on the internet 😀 the real stories come out after a few beers.

Even if next year the show was identical to this years we would still make the trip……..you can easily work out how much it cost you to take two days off work, a couple of flights, a stay in the Hilton, lots of beer etc…………but what you cannot quantify is the value of the contacts and friendships you make face to face so whatever you think of ‘the Show’ I believe that it is actually not that important.

    Warren,

I disslike doing these vans……no straight lines anywhere and the recesses are quite deep and ‘rough’ like the old sprinter…..looks like body shutz that has been painted over.

I’ve never had to go off the panels on one of these so can’t really comment as to what vinyls will work but I wopuld think 851 would be as good as it would get……….

Sorry I can’t be more help.

I love cars that involve or evoke passion……….

Committees cannot produce cars with passion……these are designed by one man or small focused teams.

I drove a Ferrari Boxer 512i from London to Glasgow when I was 17……..incredible.

I love Aston Martins……the old ones that they always lost money on appeal more than the current ones

RS Escorts, original Golf GTi, original UR Audi quattro., split screen VW camper van………Mclaren F1……the ulitmate.

Bugatti Veyron….fast but overly sanitised and lacking passion.

As for American cars…’Eleanor’…..only anoraks will know what I am talking about :lol1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IoSMu2oyaxk&feature=related

I was one of the fitters 😀 😀 😀 the stripes are fitted to the inside of the glass………but across two separate offices with no visible joins….this photo ( from my phone) lets you see how much how much vinyl and pre-mask tape was involved in the smaller of the offices.

Around 18 years a go Marcella was involved in an accident on the motorway with a 40 ft artic, she was driving an old Vauxhall carlton( which was written off!), had she been in a small car without a doubt she would not survived………we have had large cars since and nothing will change that……OK so road tax for the 4X4 has gone up……..I will pay it.

yes Paul school buses still exist……the queues at schools are cause by parents who are worried by the number of pedophiles that the government release from prison early and fail to keep tabs on…….parents simply don’t want their kids to walk un accompanied……..my daughter is 15 and uses the school bus…I walk her to the bus stop along with my two German Shepherds.
