quote Robert Lambie:always great seeing your work Ade…
How did you achieve the weathered look on the Mavericks work mate, is it all digital print backs with raise cut letters?
was Spar install only?
thanks a million for posting your work mate.
Sorry for the very very late reply, just noticed reply to post!! lol
The mavericks weathered look is print, this was repeated on all signs including the fret cut, the Mavericks logo i designed and on some signs was stand off lettering or just simply black text.
The spar work is either install work or manufacture and install, this was just an install job. We also are asked to refurb and repair. Thanks for reply Rob and sorry for lateness of mine…8months!!! lol

As always a pleasure having you on board on these jobs.

quote Gareth Lewis:Yeh, we were great. We stood around afterwards patting each other on the back, telling each other how fab were were at fitting……….then the next day it all fell off.
A minor issue that was caused by extreme heating from large ovens.. (chat.) 😀
-
quote Martin:Looks good as I have now come to expect from your work Ade, did you put the vinyl straight onto the wall or was it fitted to a board first??
If straight to the wall did you have to do any sort of prep to them.
Hi Martin.
We applied to the walls, they were in good shape, needed a good wipe over so free from dirt and dust but that was kindly done by the shop people the night before, we had a test piece on for about a week, so was a cold 6am start with Mr Lewis and his hat 🙂cheers for the Comment Martin

quote Martin:Martin, I use to do the same thing as Ade, make a paper template and then at the end of the job mark which van it’s off and stick it away in case I needed to use it again.
I hate cutting on customers vehicles so this always helped.
Yeah same here, i think that’s the best way, better than cutting there vehicles up! : :no1:
-
quote Gareth Lewis:So, did you put some in the spray gun, pull the trigger, spray some all over some vinyl, and then step back and say ‘look everybody, its…….’

-
quote Martin Oxenham:Nice work Ade. How do you go about getting a neat accurate cut on the panels of the fitness van ?
Hi Martin, i trace shape on to paper or application tape and use that as a template, those vehicle outlines are never 100% accurate.
thanks for comment

quote Gareth Lewis:Well, I’m working indoors with you on Wednesday. I hope for all our sakes you don’t create a little pongy puddle for me to kneel in during that job.

Hmmm…..
it will be pee free I’m told.
but come prepared just in case as usual!!!
as for application fluid (-)
…it really didnt work that well! 😥 -
quote Martin:So is that a part of your site survey Ade, check for pee and pee stains just incase we need Gareth’s help :lol1:

[i was talking about the "projecting sign" because it looks like there is spotting in the picturewhere the "text" is. maybe just a shadow/light cast on it… but thought it was spotting at first and wondered how the managed to illuminate something so thin. i know it can be done, but was wondering how you did it. if indeed it is illuminated 😀
Hi Rob.
The small projecting sign has Fiber optics but it has not been connected to a power supply as yet. Thanks for reply
cheers
Ade
-
quote Marcella Ross:some nice work there. 😀 Is that Moonpig sign on a house? 😮
Hi Marcella.
Yes it was fitted to house for use in a advert, was up for a day, we then had to take it down. bit to big to pass as a sky dish!! 😉
Ive not yet received the final pictures for the night shoot, sign was illuminated and lights put around the house.
looking forward to seeing them, must have looked like the circus was in town.. 😀thanks for looking and the comments
Cheers
Ade
-
quote :quote :Quick question.
Did you fabricate your projecting sign in-house or buy in?
I am not sure if it’s just the picture, but is the projector illuminated by LED’s?
Just asking as there appears to be spotting. Not knocking it all, just curious on how it has been done as I actually like the simplicity look of it.
Also, the bracket holding the projector… did you get this from http://www.signsystemsltd.com by any chance?[EDIT] having another look and the spotted might just be the shadowing of the routered text on opposite side of projector?
Hi Rob
The spotting you see for sure is caused by shadowing.
The image shows Tubes not LEDS !?
How come you managed to notice spotting and not the image of Tubes??
😀 😉
We didnt use signsystems we use a company here in Cardiff.
Not had much experience with LEDs myself but i will mention it to them, see what they have to say regarding the
benefits/costings/turnaround times etc.
The Job itself looks the business and im happy with it 100%Thanks for the feedback

Yeah i know he was not, just making a good point i know, Ian is right but us sign people usually get the end of the budget and are expected to turn water into wine…lol

"there’s no point wearing frilly knickers under a frumpy dress" 😀
Let them know that if the outside doesn’t look class, it doesn’t matter what the inside looks like.
Does look good though, but a wee bit more expense as Dave said and it would have look brill. Why did you do the projection sign with a Lightbox profile and not folded panels like the sign?[/quote]
Hi Dave…it looks brill now mate? lol
A customer will be given plenty of ideas at the survey stage.
oops that money word pop ups again!
there’s no point wearing frilly knickers under a frumpy dress? why not and how did you research that lol
The light box was a refurb, again its all money!! dare i use the word again!
We provide a service to meet a customers budget, we can advise then its over to them, yeah fret cut would have looked great..or you can have brill for a few quid less…lolthanks for the comment
