For clothing t-shirts, hi-vis etc try Ralawise Ireland – tel 01 4542559. For garment film I think the UK suppliers are still the ones to use – although Ralawise do a limited amount of the Xpress garment film

As you’re based in the UK like Rob said it may not always be the cheaper option in the long term to buy abroad … the after sales support and downtime resulting from shipping a faulty cutter abroad for repair can be very costly if you rely heavily on your cutter… for me as I am based in Ireland I would prob have to ship abroad anyway for repair (but hopefully that’ll be a long way off…) so the cheaper option was to buy from Germany…

The shipping cost to get the cutter from Germany was only 22euro.. very low compared to what I have to pay to import supplies normally…

    Hope this hepls

    3. Let the backing paper cool down before removing. (some paper you can remove when hot).

    Hi…

Can anyone please give me advice regarding what paper (if it is paper..) is used for the inserts in the keyrings mentioned by Lorraine and what is the best way to print/cut the circular inserts…

I have a cutter but can I get inkjet paper that can be cut using a cutter.

Question is a bit basic but haven’t done it before so please forgive me….

    thanks,
    Moss.

    Hi all.

I have been using the new cutter (Summa D60 SE) for the last week now and I must say I am very pleased with it. The OPOS function has worked excellently. I have printed some logos and when contour cut using the OPOS function it has been extremely acurate – the logos have been circular in shape and I haven’t had a chance to try out more complex shapes yet.

Setting up the registration marks is an easy process – measure the distances between the registration marks (x-axis and y-axis) – enter these in the cutter control panel – position OPOS laser over first registration mark and the cutter detects the remaining marks.

To get a feel for the OPOS system used in the Summa D60 you could have a look at the OPOS User’s Manual located at :

    http://www.summa.be/pages/docs.html

If there are any specific questions anyone has I’ll try and answer if I can…

    Hi,

I’ve just finished a batch of tshirts and I’m experiencing a similar problem as outline received – when pressed the Xpres Tshirts are left with blue and also red specks – just wondering if anyone else has experienced this recently and also if the lint roller tip works…

    thanks,

i just bought the Summa D60SE (with OPOS) and it arrived last wed – have been getting used to using it so far – 1st cutter and novice with vectors so taking it’s time – tried using the OPOS to contour cut and had a few attempts before it cut the correct contour (I think this was more to do with my setting the contour cut). On the correct cut it was very very accurate… once I have a few more attempts during the week I’ll report some more…

    Well Red Dragon

I’ve been trawling thru the topics here for a while and ended up using some excellent posts from people like yourself to decide on the best suppliers and equipment – I had originally ordered the mugs from Listawood along with the printer but they couldn’t deliver the mugs straight away so opted for some mugs from Novachrome when getting the mug press. Also opting for the bulk ink system from Listawood – it’s on order so just need to check back with them…

it’s the people here on this site who have educated me as to the ways of sublimation so hopefully as i get to know a bit about it i’ll be able to give some help along the way…. thanks all…

    Hiya Red Dragon,

    thanks for reply…
Was using cold water to cool the mugs and also using the brighter white side of the paper. I’m in the process of ordering some mugs from listawood also so when they arrive I’ll give them a go and report back – hopefully like you said it’s the mugs at fault – only trouble is have 70 more of them…
