    thanks for ther replies, it turned out to be the encoder strip, cleaning it didn’t do anything so i turned it upside down and bingo, noticed the flat ribbon cable going to the sensor was slapping about due to ink dust build up so gave that a clean too.

    i use LG can’t remember the exact model number, 31** i think.
    just asked my supplier to send me a sample of slightly thicker vinyl to see if its better.

    thanks for the tips
    got it nearly 95% printing perfectly,really pleased with the quality.
    noticed on the test print the magenta has about 4-5 nozzles clogged since i got it. produces very faint lines when you look closely at red prints. i run loads of cleaning cycles but its still blocked and i don’t want to waste ink. any ideas?
    i could live with it but would like to have a perfect print even on close expection

    is it advisable to put cleaning fluid in the cap and let it sit there overnight to unblock the nozzles? just a thought i had

    thanks for the warm welcome,sorry for the delay in replying i’ve just got back from an expo in Hull all the way up in Yorkshire its a long old journey.
    i’m going to have a look in the other rooms and do some posts.
