Heading out tomorrow to the conferrence.
I assume nobody from this forum is going, I’d still like to stop by & see some sign shops from the area.
Lot to learn at this one! 😀
It’s not too late!

Just a month from today.
Am I going to meet anyone from this forum?
I can’t wait! I’m going to take a 7 day vacation after the meet & would like to stop by some sign shops in Ireland.
Any takers?

I keep up on a few trophy boards an one thing I started doing is screen printing. I cut the silkscreen stencil with the plotter, & also the name of the past winner. I use that for alignment, but mask it off with clear tape. A clear overcoat varnish ink can work well as a gold size, also.
I always get the names in advance, & I can usually get 8 names spaced comfortably on one screen 16″ x 20″.
It can give a very clean look with the proper font used.

My most often used reply to “how much is a sign” usually is,
“How long is a piece of string?”
How they react is a great barometer for a future business relationship.
Thanks Lorainne,
Happy Easter, meesters & seesters!

Where is the show and what are the dates in May? I will be in Dublin area last week of May. Will I have a shot in attending?

Phil,
Gut instinct is usually right. I like the way you handled the situation. Disposing of a potential client can be tricky.

The American Sign Museum website has a page dedicated to a list of the top 25 sign books. I don’t know how many were printed in the UK, but,
it’s a excellent list of substantial books printed on the subject with descriptions, pictures of the covers, authors etc.
Check it out!

Also, check out the entire site if you get time. It’s worth a bookmark!Jeff

I also use the 3m gold squeeges.
I have caught myself without a good squeege while on site, I have wrapped a regular squeege (any type) with 4″ transfer tape, it would help to reduce friction. Also, as it wears, I would simply remove one layer of the transfer tape to expose a clean edge.
To reduce bubbles in application, I have found that if I put two layers of transfer tape over the vinyl, I get less bubbles & it makes the vinyl much easier to handle.
