MemberApril 24, 2006 at 8:18 am in reply to: Whats the cost of t-shirt vinyl compared to sign vinyl? You build them up on the garment by doing each one on its own like above – first decal 12-15 secs peel away carrier whilst hot – place the next decal/layer were you want it over the other one and do the same – and on the last one that is when you press 20 seconds and remove carrier again whilst hot/warm.
In you software you should have the option to print registration marks – use this and then the cutter can find the contour registration marks to work too. the list seems fine ,but be careful with colour transfer paper as some are real crap!

MemberApril 24, 2006 at 7:23 am in reply to: Whats the cost of t-shirt vinyl compared to sign vinyl? If you want to double or triple the vinyl then this is quite easy if you just press the first layer for 12-15 seconds and remove the carrier straight away, then place your next one ove and do the same then the last one you give it the 20 seconds and remove the carrier whilst warm still and if any edges do not look correct then put a sheet of teflon over the top and give another 10 secs.

We use ploter flex from thetransferpress and have had no problems at all with it and also Jan at revolution transfers clothing vinyl is fine from what i have seen and tried – one thing to mention though do not let it cool down before peeling like most stores advise – peel whilst still quite hot!

MemberApril 22, 2006 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Partnership or not-all thoughts appreciated!Lorraine Clinch
I am quite new on this forum but have been in businesses a long time, and in my experience with partners the only one you can rely on is the one you are married too "in some cases anyway lol" I am not saying they are all bad but!!!!
I have had 3 partnerships and all have been a complete pain and i will never go down the road again of having a working partner, and its even worse when they are friends as if it goes wrong you lose a friend also –
just my opinion anyway!

MemberApril 22, 2006 at 10:03 am in reply to: Whats the cost of t-shirt vinyl compared to sign vinyl?Yes we use heat press clothing vinyl with no problems… I have heard from a sublimation forum i am a member that some have had problems with it not adhering to the fabric and this can only be put down to faulty goods purchased as we havent had any problems! 😉

MemberApril 22, 2006 at 8:07 am in reply to: Whats the cost of t-shirt vinyl compared to sign vinyl?Well you can get some realy fancy glittery type effect clothing vinyl now or plenty of bright colours in the same so – go for the heat press method as it is still used for many even "soccer sports and alike use heat pressing if you go in and pick your shirt they then go and heat press what numbers you want on it!"
Most averages are around £6 mtr for clothing vinyl but you can get number templates to save wastage on the vinyl!

MemberApril 22, 2006 at 7:43 am in reply to: Whats the cost of t-shirt vinyl compared to sign vinyl? You cannot sublimate onto dark sports garments as this is not possible due to the fact Sawgrass have not licensed supply or sale of the white inks as yet.
When they do it will be a godsend to us who sublimate for a living! 😉

MemberApril 16, 2006 at 3:28 pm in reply to: where can I get drivers for creation p-cut please?I would also like too add a point – I have had no problems with the p-cut machines they do the job they are desinged for – I would simply like to use some of my other software as i find my sign cut etc easier to use than artcut so was looking for a driver, i think you will find the only ones who have had major problems are the ones that have bought the imports and cannot easily get support!
Allan was a great bloke to deal with and even gave me his home number – so for those looking for a p-cut i would contact Allen he is a star!

I already have some software but its the setting or drivers i am particulary looking for as i would like to use my sign pro or corel draw12 instead of the artcut that is supplied with it, only reason is everytime i want to use a vetcor picture its a nightmare to get the file to want to turn out correct to cut.
As said earlier i only do lots of smaller decals as my main game is sublimation printing. -
It is great up here but i,m affraid the weather has been terrible for such a long time i think summer must have forgot to make its way here this year 😎

MemberApril 9, 2006 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Can anyone advise if this is an offset issue please?Had something similar when i first had my p-cut, i just set everything back to factory settings and used the artcut software and it worked fine after that. From that day on i have never attempted to play with the downforce etc :lol1:
