    Hi All

Wonder if anyone can help us with an issue we’re having with the P-Cut 1230. We’ve got the pressure set, done test cut – weeds fine – go to cut the object/text – weeds nicely at some parts, not so nicely at others.

When we cut text or ovals we are having problems – when the cutter closes the shape the two cuts don’t tie up, i.e. there’s a small gap just before it closes the letter, making weeding very difficult. We’ve notice it happens on round/oval shapes and the worst.

Can anyone advise if this is an offset issue please? And if it is how we could fix it please. It’s driving us mad.

    Thanks
    Garrie (& Susan)

Had something similar when i first had my p-cut, i just set everything back to factory settings and used the artcut software and it worked fine after that. From that day on i have never attempted to play with the downforce etc :lol1:

I have a Pcut ct630 and i have ran into this problem. When i try to cut there are usually gaps at the start and end points. I am guessing this is an offset issue but i cant see where you have to adjust it. Is it on the machine or is it in the software?

Hi there, Yeah I eventually found it buried deep in the Production Manager of Flexisign Pro.

For others that may be running the same system try this.

Click CUT and it should open up your Production Manager. Click SETUP then DEFAULT JOB PROPERTIES.

Select the 3rd tab and you will see the KNIFE OFFSET option. Mine was set at 0.051mm. I set mine at 0.5mm and it seems fine. It might be a better idea to try various different settings to see what suits you best.

i have this problem too with my CT630 – namely when cutting small lettering…. I had tried everything, rate, downforce the lot….. Might give this a go tommorrow. I cut using PLTDraw – not great, but it does the production end nicely, allowing me to work using corel and flexisign (could never get FS to work with the 630 for some reason…) 🙄
