I thought about that but I am concerned with matching the background black of the image as the vinyl black will be lovely and dense in colour.

The problem you have is that people will price based on producing the Banner digitally.
Price would be around £150

oops
They are doing a banner for me 10ft x 6ft because its to big for us. I am a bit worried now.
Why are images different from that of a grenadier?

In hindsight extra time spent estimating would have achieved the exact measurements.
Unfortunatly sometimes its hard to allow yourself 30 mins on a estimate that may not come your way.
I already have a list of things I’d do differently for the next lot. fortunatly for me the client loves the job and understands that I may need to charge that little bit extra next time.

As a matter of interest what would you have estimated the Vinyl usage would be if you was asked to price this job?
-
It was not taken that way.
These are my first car graphics produced after setting my new business up and have only been in the game for 1 Year.
So, ‘you should have done it this way’ is welcome.

Give or a take a few metres.
It is very deceptive how much vinyl was used. The curved blue lines were not economical. We could only get one blue curve on a 610 width vinyl in most cases, so there was alot of wasted vinyl.
I did estimate around 25% less vinyl

They used
100 metres of blue
40 metres of black
40 metres of silverApprox

MemberJune 2, 2005 at 7:40 pm in reply to: Solvnet printing on banner material – curling?Hi Rob
We had the same problem after leaving the prints 48 hours before laminating and then tried moving to 180 micron from Antalis but it still curled over time.
Being picky its a bit annoying when you see it starting to curl but I have never had any rejections.
The biggest problem I have is that the stop light material can be easily scratched before laminating even with solvent inks, when everyone says how durable they are without lamination.
