    Thank You Denise,
    I will look into this.
It is a ‘spare’ printer to be honest, and I am moving premises/home very soon and want to take the opportunity of trying to run it up then. Hopefully I’ll have a back up in situ as all of my work is done on an Edge or my Ioline Classic plotter..

    Ah, Points taken Robert,

For me personally, I only use the Edge, for my work which reproduces as close to original printed media, ink just isn’t the way to do it, hence the Edge.
As we know, there are many many firms out there that keep their Edge for those specials which physically cannot be achieved with ink, so I think it would be really good if there was a specific area….?

Regarding my Avatar, my apologies, I am as guilty as most for not reading the small print.. if you wish to remove it I accept the conditions.. however, brace yourself for a shock when I become vain enough to take my own picture for it’s replacement…………….

    Pretty serious stuff this..

    Hi Folks,
I was unsure that it may be regarded as a ‘competing’ site..
But in all honesty, I found it fantastically useful, especially when Gerbers own technicians legitimately contributed on there.
If you asked for help, around 5 o’clock our time, they must have been at the right time of day to assist, I always got responses and genuinely positive help.

I shall ask here on another post, thank you all.

I would leave any top coating a good few days, let the vinyl settle and the edges cure.
I get this a lot on machinery, but this isn’t the best time of year unless you have a nice warm w/shop.

    Yep,
for me business & pleasure definitely works.
We moved earlier on this year so I only have one tractor now, those pictures are customers of course, but my own has very little in the way of ‘decals’ on.. but then, in 1952 not much did have really did it.
Thanks too for arranging my pictures neatly!! Something else I’ll have to work on.

    Regards,

p.s. can I alter my name to Titch, you are the only lot here that call me Dave, and Titch is going on my headstone..

    Ahn,
now we are moving into a software exercise.. hope this is OK on this post.
But in all honesty, all I am capable of really is, and I have just done it, exporting from my Signlab 4.95 as an Ai, an early Ai at that, then coverted to Pdf with Corel.
Saved on a memory stick as that now.
I’ll have a go at putting it on here… don’t wait for me though.. or can we/allowed/accepted by the forum to contact personnel direct if so wished???
Thanks so far Chris, I’m learning every day, and so I/we should (hot)
no.. sorry, don’t know how to get it from the memory stick. I don’t wish to take up your time too much here, software issues are not my thing, self taught on Signlab a long time ago I’m afraid.. can it be emailed Chris?

    Fair comment all,
it’s just one of those tasks I keep putting off somehow, yes ‘node edit’ tends to be an occupational habit of mine.. I will do it, thanks.. that’s kicked me up the bum!!
And then I sit here for 20 minutes having another read through the forum……. I must crack on here, but I appreciate all the comments, not a bad bunch eh??

    Now I like that Chris!!
If I set up the font as I need it, could/would you put the ‘grass’ growing up into it & make it ‘cutable’ on my plotter??
How I can reward you would be your shout if it’s possible to get it to me..

Thanks, quicker than I am obviously!!

I’ve only ever used ‘Brand Names’ and it’s delivered direct or with a rep.

In fairness I have used …. sub standard names, many years ago, and decided then only to use it for a specific job… but only for a couple of years and very selective for the end use.
My theory is to use who I know, I feel more confident with the end product then. 99% of my work is on an ‘Edge’ and using 380 sprocketed.. I cannot afford to ruin a good longstanding reputation really.

I use Signlab, 4.95 in fact, and it’s worked OK for me for 20 years so that will be the way I think chaps, thanks.
And yes, I too thought of grass growing up into and therefore cut out of the bottom of the letters.
    Thanks for the input here..

That’s probably a good idea Harry thanks, do each letter individually.

I did wonder if it was a font that someone may know of, but I rather suspect it may have been ‘adapted’, personally I detest it, but…

    Thanks again chaps,

I struggle like mad sometimes when I want to install another font on my Signlab, OLD version of 4.95, but still doing all I ask after 20 years! except font installing..
Sometimes I can manage it, but reading the above posts maybe it’s having it as a Windows TTF that is important?? Yes?? or am I still talking utter nonsense and kidding myself I can do it??

I also run Omega on a Gerber, with XP Professional, but sadly never got to actually using the programme itself, I import from my Signlab.. I know I SHOULD get to grips with the Omega, if nothing else as a back up for me, but these days.. well, you don’t learn as quick! How nice too, to be consider a ‘youngster’ although another birthday looms next week… who cares!

On my Signlab, 4.95 you zoom out with F6 and bring back to full screen with F7, I find it fine, well, for the past nearly 20 years it’s been OK for me.

You’ll laugh at me folks, but I still use 4.95 on a Windows 98 computer.
It’s never been connected to the internet and has always been faultless.
    I’m afraid I’m old school.. ‘If It Ain’t Broke……..

Speaking of which, I’m wanting to get another 98 pc to run another plotter……
