apologies robert, summacut D160R
stuart, thanks for the advice, been pulling hair out for a couple for days trying everything. when i spoke to summa directly they basically didnt really want to help and palmed me off with its our suppliers issue i think it was the fact that didnt buy from them directly!
anyways gave your way a try with no server running and its cutting fine now. just have to make a note on the PC to switch off the server before running. i wasnt here when the machinery was installed, i think they had problems getting the cutter to work in the first place with the RIPs own cutter software and no one our side or theres thought about what happens when we wanted to just cut vinyl!
problem solved for now, thanks! -

i generally know my most common vinyl codes off my head so generally doesnt really become a problem!!
have some of my vinyls stored in one of my work benches so the tape method doesnt really work too well but its what i use and sometimes i end up with snagged bits so those little dodads will come in handy i hope!! if not im sure my bin will enjoy storing them! 😀 -

thanks for the reply, from what ive been told the printer can deal with either, precut or square sheet and roll materials. also the plotter perhaps would have an slight advantage over an CNC as it would be able to cut different materials and comes with a camera for alignment.
do you have an example of a CNC finisher so i can do a comparison.
i currently have an aristo plotter and would be looking to replace it with the newer bigger version which has a multihead.
