This is Gemma, and true to form, being female, she’s costing a fortune :lol1:
She is an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog x . Gorgeous dog, and very intelligent. We got her for company for our older dog.
We’ve had her about 3 weeks but she had blood clots develop on her ears, so we had to get them surgically removed (the clots – not the ears). She’s not happy about the collar tho.

Steve
i give you the answer, THE MOBILE PHONE !!!!! :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

We had a slew of Westies – now have two left but plan a litter next year. We have a motorhome and pull a tuktuk along behind to get out and about in, the dogs love it but need eye protection because they lean out – they have 100’s of photo’s taken ! Bob and Myrtle (who is nearest to the camera)
-
-
There are so many gorgeous dogs on here !
I have to say that I have told 101 people about shagger and his snowman ! Makes me smile every time I think of that picture.
I could swipe Gus too, absolutely adore Newfies, just not got the space to have one 😕
Saph 🙂

OMG look how much he’s grown ! Those feet are like plates ! Where’s the baby gone ?
Love the logo :lol1:

Sukey Buzz looks about as delighted to be in her costume as Bob was to be a pumpkin last year. Little does he know what surprise we have in store for him this year.
Myrtle made a superb witch and wore her pointy hat all evening !

Adrian your Malumute looks superb, I love any kind of snow dogs!
We got "Jack" 3 months ago now, he’s a Husky / German Shepherd cross and like you say are fantastic puppies but are hard work – it means getting up an hour early to take him for a nice morning run but its keep me fit also.
This is Jack aged 4 months… he’s going to be BIG boy based on the size of his paws
-
Thanks Nick 😀
Had a scare with the Muffster last week. Has a habit of eating socks 🙁 Having hid them up for the past few months she found a couple without us knowing. Sicked up one, had to have the other removed by surgery!!!
Jack looks lovely! Its a pain waiting for them to grow into their ears! lol. Just be careful how much you exercise him when he is young. Mallys can suffer from displacia and if my memory serves me right so do Sheperds.
I know what you mean about the keeping fit. My boy does around 4 to 5 miles a day on the bike. Trouble is, he don’t care if its freezing cold or p-ing down with rain! 😀 😀
-
Haha they do look a bit "dumbo-ish" at the moment don’t they.
Sorry to hear that but glads he’s ok, Jacks the same will eat anything and everything left lying around.
I have a habit of being a tad over enthusiastic, when I say an hour running its probably more realistically a half hour crawl 🙂 I read on a website to make sure you don’t over exercise them as puppies as it can cause issues later on.
– What a superb post! I’ve certainly found it such a social thing having a dog, everyone wants to stop and have a chat who you would normally just walk right passed

You are not wrong.
My dad had a Maltese, and took her to the post office to get the mail every morning. Dad called her his ‘chick magnet’.
Women seemed to come out of the woodwork to pat the dog and talk to my dad about his ‘gorgeous puppy’. She was a miniature Maltese so looked like a puppy, when she was actually 12 years old
Dad is in his 70’s and most of the women were in their 20’s :lol1: :lol1: Sadly the dog died earlier this year, and getting the mail has not been the same since for my dad.

That is an especially cool photo.
The dog must have been quite well-behaved to stay still during the long exposure times cameras required back then.
Are those real pressed flowers?
Neato.
Love….Jill -
Hi Jill
The flowers are painted with lil’ baby robins sitting on them! 😎
Aj
-
AJ never noticed the Robins is the dog painted as well ?? nice to see you around again

dawg gone? 😀
I’ll get me coat 😳 😳

quote Jillbeans:The dog must have been quite well-behaved to stay still during the long exposure times cameras required back then.
The Victorians were very fond of stuffing dead animals – a practice known as Taxidermy.
This may well explain the dogs ability to keep still for the length of time required for the cameras exposure 😕
-
No, the dog looks too perky to be stuffed with sawdust.
Ever looked into memento mori photography from back then?
I have seen pix of poor dogs who have ceased to be.
Fallen off the mortal coil, etc.Love….Jill

As she is changing so fast, thought I would update my Muffster picture! lol
Have to excuse the pink hoodie! It was not because she was cold either. Little cow ate a couple of socks a couple of weeks back, the hoodie was keeping the 10 inch row of stitches clean 😥
These were taken whilst they were on their stake outs. 120 teams in total staked out over two days was certainly an eye opener for the locals! Bit noisy too, as you can see, they do like a bit of karaoke 😀 😀
-
Well, after reading all these posts about the enjoyment and fulfillment members get from their dogs, I thought I should have one.
I bought this on eBay. The owner couldn’t tell me what breed it was, and it doesn’t look like any of the other posted pictures.
Do you think I’ve been conned? 😀
-
er…. 😮 ….. yep.
Looks as big as Peter and Lynns dogs though. They would have a better idea I’d guess 🙄
-
are you trying to make a "foal" of us John?
….don’t worry I won’t be giving up my day job 😳
-
No kidding. Honest 😀
The name he was given at birth is Tom Thumb. Not very original, but I’m not sure I want to change it.
The photo was taken at two weeks old, and now he is ten weeks. I’ll take a new piccy this weekend.

Tom Thumb….stupid name for a dog if you ask me 🙄
-
-
Is he house trained yet John ??
……….and does he have a basket at the foot of your bed :lol1:
-
The wife must be well chuffed John…..
Looks a nice little fella
-
Looks like Donkey met horse, bought a nice 10 acre plot in the midlands forgot to get a TV and had nothing else to do to pass the time…
I would call him Honkey 🙄 :lol1:
sorry :peek:
-
quote Warren Beard:Looks like Donkey met horse,
You’ve hurt his feelings now Warren.
Dogs do have feelings you know. 😀
-
John I think your little Tom Thumb is a lovely dog, you will have to fetch him to see Suzie & Ozzie 😀
Lynn

Seeing as we’re all "bragging" about our "dugs" – here’s my "Dug" taken from a funny angle 😕
-
I’d gt him to a vet Phill, I’ve never seen them single file before 😛 😮
-
I would get yourself to a vet mate, taking pics like that, needs seeing to 😀
Peter
-
quote Phill:It would appear that I inadvertently entered an incorrect address for the picture I posted earlier. It was of course my intention to show the following picture of my “Dug” instead 😕
Sorry for the miss-understanding and I do hope no offence was caused by my unfortunate error in accidently typing in the wrong address 😕
-
I have to admit I was a little surprised at the first picture you posted Phill.
Not the sort of picture a shy introverted person such as yourself would normally post :lol1: :lol1: -
quote Martin:I have to admit I was a little surprised at the first picture you posted Phill.
:lol1: :lol1:Can’t say I was…… nor do I believe the second explanation…. 😉 😀 :lol1:

Shane, you have to read my whole post, not cherry pick one bit :lol1: :lol1:
-
-
For some reason I thought I had posted a pic of our late dear ole Maltese Poodle Misha. She was 16 when she went to the kennel in the sky. I still called her "puppy" even though she was an old maid. As Shane said….a chick magnet! Allways glad to see you even if you had only been out for 10 mins.
I am not a dog lover myself but long story short……she stole my heart.
R.I.P. my sweetie. -
quote Martin:Not quite mine yet but could be mine in a few weeks time :lol1:
Is it just me?
I initially saw two other little dogs in the pic,
I now know it is the puppies paws, weird?Peter
-
-
Peter that is weird because although she is on her own in the picture there were 3 in the litter.
That photo was taken at 8 days old so it will be a few weeks before I will be able to collect her. -
quote Martin:Not quite mine yet but could be mine in a few weeks time :lol1:
My god Martin, that’s an ugly beast!
Why not save a fortune (by refusing delivery in a few weeks time) in upkeep, food, and vets bills and just get it put down now instead of in 12 years time after you’ve forked out a fortune pandering to the brute 😕
-
Martin….MARTIN!………please call it Bullseye…..I always wanted to call a dog that! 😀 BULLSEYEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀
-
Thanks Phill, I knew I could rely on your support 😉 Good job she is only 8 days old and unable to read this as I am sure she would be heartbroken.
Harry, sorry but I can’t call her bullseye, for one thing she is not the right breed and secondly she has a name already and if that changes it will be because my Daughter wants a different name.
-

Spoilsport! 🙁
-
I’ve not got her yet Phill, went over to see her for the first time and pay a deposit for her on Saturday. I won’t actually get her for another 5 weeks.
Not quite as ugly now is she Phill 😉

quote Steve Newell:This is my 2 with their cousin. Freya(13 today) and Indy(7).
They are both weimaraners. We were told this breed has sensitive stomachs and were fussy about what they ate. Boll**ks. We have yet to find ANY stuff they won’t eat!Lettuce Steve! And tomatoes. They are the only 2 things our Weimeraner won’t eat 😕
I shall have to get a decent photo of our 2 dogs.
Lovely photo Steve, The bigger one is the spit of my Macey, and the younger looks like her puppies (now nearly 6 years old). May be from same line…
Freya looks in excellent health for her age!Lovely puppy Martin, ignore Phil, he doesn’t mean it really!

Hi Lorraine
Nope they like both of those. We’ve even had to hide the fruitbowl because they empty it faster than we can fill it!
Freya is in good nick for her age, but she has slowed down the last couple of months. (not a bad thing) -
I know what you mean! People don’t believe Macey is 9, she looks much younger, and acts like a 2 year old!
-

By no means great photos, but we went to ‘adopt’ Kim today.
Little rescue beagle / jack russell cross.
Couple of photos taken on a lame phone camera.
Will be sure to post some better ones at some point.
Picking her up on Wednesday as she’s in to the vet on Monday to be spayed & chipped.
Think she’s going to be a real sweetie.
-
Wish you all the best with her Dave…….
check incase your local authority will chip her for free…..many do.
john
-
she looks really sweet 😀 I’m sure she’ll love her new home. 😀
-
Good luck with your new girl Dave, sure Kim will make you both very happy and you her. From what I have read on the forum she couldn’t be going to a better home.
-
looks a little honey mate, you can tell by her body language that she has a good temperament.
-
John, why dont you start a new thread "Show us your Donkey!"
-
quote Dave Rowland:John, why dont you start a new thread “Show us your Donkey!”
*rofl* Dave you are on the wrong forum! 😮
That’s a big dog John. :lol1:
