Sign & Digital UK’s triumphant return to the NEC, with a record-breaking exhibitor, rebook rate!

Sign & Digital UK, which ran from 22 to 24 March, against the challenges of covid cases on-the-rise and rocketing fuel prices, welcomed almost 4,000 visitors, in buying mode, to the NEC, Birmingham.

Many substantial deals for new equipment were made over the three-day signmaking, digital printing and display solution show, with visitors having access to the industry’s leading exhibitors, networking opportunities, the SDUK explains lounge – featuring a packed programme of business advice, and the Sign Studio – where all the latest sign making techniques were on display.

Another show highlight was the HEXIS Battle Wrap contest, which saw contestants compete in heats over the three days. The high-energy skill testing contest concluded with a competitive final on the last day, with Mike Szwacki of WEP Wrap Squad winning the trophy and final prize of £2,500.

Jenny Matthew, event director for Sign & Digital UK said: “It’s been a challenging time for the entire industry, but we rode out the storm and delivered another fantastic Sign & Digital UK. I would like to say a big thank you to all the exhibitors, visitors, partners and media supporters who came to the show. To see so many deals done on the show floor was phenomenal – it’s always a pleasure to see end-users and suppliers come together to do business and seal deals’

“We’re already looking forward to hosting another great event in 2023. This year we had a team of market researchers speaking directly to visitors on the show floor, getting valuable feedback and insight into the areas our visitors are moving into and how SDUK can continue to evolve to best meet their business needs. The response to SDUK 2022 from our exhibitors has been overwhelming and is reflected by the record number who have re-booked for 2023.”

“Sign & Digital UK remains an unrivalled meeting place for the signage, display and print industry, to keep up to date with what’s new, to see demos, and to do business, and 2023 is already shaping up to be a record breaking show. Watch this space for all the updates.”

Feedback from exhibitors at the show reflected how lively the show floor was and the quality of visitors. Some comments include:

Graham Jones, Head of Marketing, GRAFITYP (UK) LTD:

“The show has exceeded our expectations. There’s lots of visitors here, the stand has been busy and we’re looking forward to the next two days”

Rob Goleniowski, Head of Sales UK & Ireland, Roland DG:

“The show is great. We have waited a long time to come and spend time with our friends and customers again. It’s been really busy! People come to SDK for a reason, and that’s to get a chance to look at products and talk to people. It’s really important to come and get that first-hand information”

Scott Wilkins, Managing Director, HEXIS UK LTD:

“Sign & Digital UK is very important. HEXIS have been at the show for the past 27 years and we love the show, it’s fantastic for us. Even some of our suppliers come and see us at the show. It’s a great focal point for everybody to be in one place at one time.”

Ellen Wain, Business Development, Graphtec GB:

“The show has been really great for us this year. It’s just getting busier and busier- it’s great to be back again and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year. It’s been really interesting seeing the different types of customers who have been approaching us, we are so excited for what’s to come” (day 1)

Paul Hughes, County Print & Signs UK:

“We’ve had a number of truly valuable leads at Sign & Digital 2022. We’ve had some really interesting customers who could take this business to a different level”
