I tried stretching a print today off the Truevis and as said it doesn’t stretch well at all, I’d say 5mm stretch, heated up, and the colour is thinning for sure. This machine is running off ink installed last August, my first few days playing around with it. For me its not that relevant as I don’t intend doing vehicle wraps, but I’d considered doing them in the future maybe? I read on here that the ink has been modified to sort this, but I won’t know till I order some new ink, and theirs still 75% in the current ones. Overall though I’m happy with the print quality, and its ultra scratch proof, another test I did today, so great for anything other than wraps.

This may be a setting in Versaworks, download and use version 6 as it seems better than Dual, or a setting in the printer panel. You may be better contacting Roland DG directly as they are usually very helpful.

Thanks Steve, I seem to have sorted this issue today. Done a few 500mm wide JPEG prints and they’ve come out great. Another thing I noticed today though was the heater was significantly warmer on the right hand side than the left, is this normal?, Each side was warm, but the right hand side was a lot warmer?

On our machine we have 2 pinch rollers with a blue mark than 7 we can put in and out. The ones with the blue mark are the ones it reads, so should be on outside edge of the media for both..

That could not be the answer as I don’t have this machine.

Yes the rollers with the blue marks are at each end of the full set, but it reads 1100, which is neither where the blue rollers are or the width of the vinyl. Also when I try to adjust on the settings it stops at 1100.

Good Evening, I bought a Roland Truevis SG 540, back in January, made a couple of previous posts on this thread. Well it’s taken till today to actually find somewhere to keep it, it’s been stored but plugged in with a test print every 3 days or so, and I’ve done a little print today which came out great. Thing is I’m on a learning curve here, and was wondering how do you adjust the media width setting?, its got a 720 roll in it, but say’s 1100 and when I adjust it won’t go higher than 1100, reading the manual it says it goes off the pinch rollers, bare in mind it’s my first half a day using this, so be nice. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for everyone’s input, think I am going to go ahead and buy it. Seems to have mixed reviews online but I haven’t read anything really bad. I do have a printer salesman telling me not to buy it, although he wants to sell me one of his. Next issue is moving it, its 40 miles from me.

Thanks Steve, this machine is available for 6k, and its never had an ink change, seems too good to be true. I have used Mimaki printers in the past, and have seen the Versacamm, I’m hoping this machine is better than those, but is it??

Hello, I joined this site 24 hours ago, with the intention of asking about peoples experience with a Roland TrueVIS SG 540. I have an offer to purchase one, need to make a decision asap. My main business is vehicle graphics, do some signs and window vinyl jobs which I’ve managed for 6 years using a Graphtec Plotter whilst buying prints in. My supplier of prints is now charging £45 a square metre, so I deffo need a printer, should I buy this machine? And Thankyou in advance.
