    Rich,

As far as the success of signing your own van I would guarantee it will bring in new business if used in conjunction with other basic forms of promotion like the yellow pages etc. I didn’t get my own done for 6months after I had it and the first week after I put the graphics on it a guy from down the road called and said he never new what I did ! OK I work from home, but still it has got me subsequent jobs too plus it makes you look much more professional when your out on a job or site visit. I spoke to a customer last week who said he thought I had a fleet of vans because he “kept seeing my van everywhere” !
As far as the design goes, I would make it eye catching but not over cluttered with text. A strong logo is a good place to start but don’t feel the need to try and list everything you can supply as this is usually too much for people to take in especially when you are on the move.
Personally my advertising consists only of my van, website and YP ads which along with recommendation works very well for me.

Of course you can make use of the design forum here and we will all give you some constructive help with it too !

Hope this helps a little 😉

I was just thinking the same sort of thing Chris – I personally would avoid too much of a “corny” big explosion type thing and go for a more subtle approach, maybe change the “i” in the name to a stick of dynamite for example ??
