My printer stops printing right in the middle of a print and the display says,
    "Y Current Press Enter Key".
Has anyone had this before or any suggestions?? I have a huge job due and it’s done it twice in the past day….my tech support has no real answers…

    Thanks for any help

I just found the answer to my problem! Here is info for anyone else with this problem.

oil the bar that the head slides on. Get some good all in one household oil. Sold at home depot in a red and white bottle. Apply small amount to paper towel and wipe up and down bar till all black residue is removed. then put a little more oil on clean paper towel and oil again. This will get rid of error and help before you ruin your Y motor.

    Hi there

Don’t know if this helps. Just had 2 months of trying to sort a similar problem with my VJ1604. Tried changing encoder strips, cleaning the runner bar, carriage boards etc.

I’ve just replaced the Carriage encoder sensor on my machine and its sorted it out.
