  • XP administrator problem?

Posted by Martin C on October 21, 2003 at 11:52 pm

I’ve recently taken delivery of an all bells and whistles PC running XP Home Edition.

Not that it’s essential to my business but…as part of the package it comes with Win TV GO, (so I can watch ‘Trisha’ when I’m in need of a spiritual uplift, a sense of wellbeing, diplomacy and tact 😕 ) and work at the same time.

I have loaded a number of new bits of software without any problems, yet the Win TV Drivers and some associated files won’t load as I don’t, according to the Error messages, have Administrator status. But I do!

Mine is the only User Account and is therefore an Administrator account. It has been suggested that I remove Windows and all my software and reload it which I’m not prepared to do for a Tv thingy but if anyone has a quick fix for this it would be appreciated.
One other message I’ve had says: A Service installation in this INF is invalid…what’s an INF?

    Thanks

when booting up up will see some text, press F8 then select normal you will then get the option for admin and you normal account that you boot into.

The other option is prog/asses/system tools/ system restore.

Resore allows you to step backward, please not that you may loose some software loaded.
