Johnny – sorry I didn’t reply sooner…the idea of a xmas get together sounds great – truth is so many plans demand the attention this time of year that after family and the in-laws, xmas shopping, my wifes birthday (2 weeks before xmas!) and all the other stuff…well, you know what I’m saying.

We really should do something like a spring meet though – it’d be fabulous!…all down to yours then eh! πŸ˜‰

oh – and I’d just like to be the first to say…” A MERRY XMAS TO ALL!”… πŸ˜•

    more soon

ahh so you could leeroy! forgot about that πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

it would be great but like mike said.. most will be busy with family, inlaws etc.
Can you imagine it? Our luck would be we all meet for first time at a lovely log cabin in the hills. We all sit round the fire slagging my spelling on the board while sipping whiskey, beer and anything with alcohol in it we can find. A late coming drunk bangs on the door.. I open it and Steve broughton πŸ˜‰ is standing covered in snow.. Saying i couldn’t see the signs & got lost and the snows up to my knees (which means its 4 foot high as he is the green giant) in he comes with a barrel of beer on each shoulder… we wake a few days later to find the snow up by the windows.. Nobody knows were we are and none of us have mobiles.. Cutting it short…
We end up eating each other and the last one alive dies of food poisoning.. πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

Hey Johnny…I could go for that. As long as the cutouts are of good cheer, and don’t forget to buy a round.

On a serious note though…If anyone does want to catch up for a bevy, we fly in on 20th Dec and are in the UK for two weeks. We’d love to meet anyone from here.

We’re staying in East London as a base most of the time.we’ve been given the use of a house RIGHT ON THE RIVER…lucky huh? but don’t mind travelling a bit for a catch up. Gotta go to Essex for a catchup with the rellies who made it out of London, Hoping to make a call on some fellow who lives in a shed out somewhere in the wilds. But, other than that…

Gray, Romford Market is just 20 minutes from me up the A12. You must have sold vegetables…..at one time it never seemed to have much else!! Doubt you’d recognise the old town now though, new shopping precincts everywhere.

Leeroy, If your looking for a cuppa whilst in sunny Essex give me a shout. I’m in Writtle, just outside Chelmsford………..or if you fancy roughing it go down and see Johnny in Maldon πŸ˜€

    Sorry Johnny………couldn’t resist that!! πŸ‘Ώ

Well I could get upset Martin, if I lived in Maldon! But I only work there so no harm done. But then again I did live in ROMFORD!!
probably bought a banana from Gray! πŸ˜€
So I’m off in me mark 3 escort with go faster stripes!

Used to go shopping in Romford market when I lived in Forest Gate, isn’t Romford the home of the John Bull brewery, or was it Ilford, please tell me they went bust or some beer lover burnt it down as it was the most god awful excuse for beer I’ve ever tasted. πŸ˜†

    Hey folks,

I’ve got to go to Canvey Island to visit my Granddad, and Chigwell for the rich rellies My aunt and uncle, but hey if there could be even a small gathering We’ll be there. (hot)

Yep Johnny, even if it is only you, me the cutouts and six strippers…Although Jenny’ll be there and I might get a slap…Although we could have seven strippers then!

Is it hard to get around over there? We really don’t mind travelling a bit, and will have the use of Nan’s car. The last time I went over there, everyone was surprised at where I’d go for a beer…40 mile round trip no problems ( I was careful not to drink and drive – Id spill some).

Here you get kind of used to long trips, As a lad I’d go to Bunbury which is a town about 200kms south of Perth as a road trip with some mates on a Saturday night. We’d get there, have a burger and go back to Perth to whatever party we’d left. Good fun.

If you drive through the centre of London monday – friday (you can drive outside for free though) we now have congestion charging of Β£5. per day, heres a web link for the info

ohh and heres a map of the zone for you.

But if you do go into london use the Tube πŸ™‚ it’s quite cheap and it even sometimes runs on time.

    Have fun[/url]

    Steve,

The old Romford Brewery as was is now ‘The Brewery’ shopping centre and yes it was they who were responsible for John Bull bitter!

I helped set up and publish a local Real Ale Newspaper. We needed advertising from day one yet CAMRA wouldn’t accept John Bull ads. As part of my ‘investigation’ as to why I had to sample John Bull……and they and you had a point…it was awful!
