  • XC540 ink cartridges and replacing when empty

    Hi.

This might seem a strange question, and one I should probably know given the number of years I’ve been doing this job !

I’m currently running Eco Sol Max inks and thinking of going to Max 3. A few of the current cartridges are getting a bit low – am I able to let 1 cartridge colour run out and it carry on to the next cartridge of the same colour or is it going to scream at me to tell me it needs replacing ?

i.e. I want to try and run the ink cartridges as low as possible before changing and as this machine has 2 of each colour can I run them down to empty and it still print from the other cartridge ?

I believe I can’t mix the new cartridges with the old type. Any other recommendations for generic inks welcome !

    Cheers
    Lee

Be careful, I ran mine to near empty and my magenta ran out. I had to buy another Eco sol max 2 just to do a cycle so I could take them all out and upgrade.
