  • Wrong signs! Can we all get away with speed camera offences?

    Hi Gang,
The missus got flashed by one of smiler blair and two jags tyson’s speed cameras a couple of weeks ago and the damned paperwork dropped onto the mat this morning.
I was doing a little research cause a mate ( police officer ) said there are a few technicalities that you can beat the cameras with.
Anyway, found this…..seems like good old signs could save us!
I used to put up speed camera signs for avon county and they all had a black border as suggested in this article from the BBC:

    ENJOY!

Wouldn’t it be awful if black borders started appearing on unbordered signs.
I mean what group of people could make such a thing happen 😉

Curious, the sign described in the BBC News video as correct doesn’t seem to be right either.

The relevant drawing from “The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002” which came into force 31 Jan 2003 stipulates a blue background 😕 http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2002/02311395.gif
