  • would a window tint for shadow give me desired effect?

Ok, I have this idea for making a more realistic shadow effect. It is for my own logo on my van which has letters on top of other letters. The bottom letters are flat, while the top letters are ‘3D’ and cast a shodow onto the other letters, if I use a vinyl for the shadow it goes over the top of the bottom letters, thus hidding part of them(hope you all folow that).

So I was wondering if I used window tint for the shadow it would give me the desired effect, but would it last/stay put etc?

    Your thoughts please.

    Cheers

A halftone effect printed onto clear vinyl would probably do the same trick, I’ve been playing with a similar idea for a window graphic I’ve been working on. 😀

    Dave,

I am not sure if it is avery or 3M now, but one of them made a tape that, once laid over a colour, changed that colour by a % and made it look like a shadow. It gave yo a darker shade of the colour ir covered. Looked like a real shadow.

Used it a few years ago with great success.

It is after 10pm here now, but when I get to work in the morning, I’ll check it out and post you what I find.

I think Spandex here sold it. They stock both 3M and Avery, so I’ll chase it up for you.

    Cheers
