Word Of Warning – Domain Name Sales
Just had a call from a company called Be Creative.
They tried selling us two domain names (Vanwrappingmanchester & carwrappingmanchester) for £150 each +VAT, or both for £200+VAT. Knowing it was rather expensive for a domain name, I had a quick whois search and found at the time both domains were readily available for £5 for two years registration!
Magically the company in question has now registered one domain name, someone else the other, and had wasted 15mins trying to sell it to me :lol1:
So a word of warning, they may be targeting our industry, in the hope of ripping some naive person off!
If you are offered a domain name, do a quick search on the likes of heart internet, 123reg, vidahost etc and it will tell you a) if it’s available, b) how much it will cost!
