If you want more performance , turn off all the fancy stuff – under control panel , system , settings – max performance , it turns off all the cpu/graphics/memory hogging graphics/themes
What type of sites do you want? Search for Windows XP tweaks tips and tricks.

And right click on the trash can & rest the size smaller, it defaults to 10% of the hard drive!! December 2003 issue ofP CPLUS has a lot of useful stuff to streamline it as well.

I’m running XP on 3 pc’s, sure you’ll get to grips with it

Also 512meg of Ram is the minimum, the more you have the happier XP is. i have 1 meg and i want more ( just for my games u understand 🙂 )

Also look at your windows system restore , turn teh size of that down too, it takes a huge amount of resorces. you will find that under control panel , system , system restore.

I personaly wouldn’t have anyother operating system now.

Also make sure you have ALL the updates for it.

I have also found that when i used the “Users” functions for different users ie: the wife and kids, i had no end of problems running programs ect. so i don’t bother with that.
