• Windows Explorer query

Hi, I used to be able to do it, but have lost the instructions on how to:
set Explorer (in W98se or XP) to always take you back to the window you were last in when you last shut it down.
and to always open up in the view mode you had whenyou lsat shut it down- in Xp, it always defaults to thumbnail view, where I prefer details view. I’ve tried altering settings wherever I could find them, but nothing’sticks’ and I get sick of resetting the views each time.
    Advice/help/hints would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

This is the way I’ve done it it works for me (if I understand you right)
Windows explorer, set your view details or whatever.
Then click TOOLS – FOLDER OPTIONS Under folder options again click VIEW and click the APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS and each time you open it should go to details or whatever you chose for your view.

Hope this is what you want
    Gordon.
If you want to turn off all the superflous rubbish within XP and speed up your PC take a look and READ stuff on a site called BLACK VIPER search on Google will pick it up very usefull and informative.

Thanks, I’ll try that- but I’m sure I’ve been along that path without success before…! We’ll see, I’ll give it a go again.
Re XP- I’ve already been into setup & turned off a lot of junk labelled as ‘enhancements’, and it’s sped things up a lot- well worth doing, reassigning resources, dropping the recycle bin size & history for rebooting sizes etc.
    I appreciate the help.
