I always try and stick with white yellow or sky blue Derek but if they want a specific colour then i always advise a white outline.

another thing to look for is the interior of the shop/showroom

if its all painted white with bright lighting then the white text struggles to show up

but i agree with the above that the brighter colours are usually the best but pick a colour which will stand out against the interior too
