Window Graphics: Morrow & Morrow (Signgold)
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh on September 2, 2004 at 9:29 pmHere’s a pic of a job that I did yesterday in Mars.
I don’t care for glass work.
I think it turned out OK tho. The door picture doesn’t
show up well because of a flyer stuck inside the glass.
The alphabets are from Letterhead Fonts,
and I used SignGold Florentine Swirl.

brilliant job jil!! 😀
the font looks right cowboy style!!
how long did it take you to do?Nik
-
😳
Ugggh
About 15 minutes to design, re-kern, etc.
20 minutes to cut the black & 10 to weed.
45 minutes to cut the $200/5yds SignGold and about 45 mins to weed.
(I wasted 18″ of it by accident! 👿 )
1 hour and 45 minutes to stick (wet application)
I should have used hi-tack transfer tape on the SignGold.
Would have rather painted/gilded it!
I got the one font free at a Letterhead meet.
It’s called Esoteric.

Blimey, all you’re short of is Wild Bill Hiccup and his posse of merry cowgirls! 😀 Really smart though Jill!
I’d love to do windows like that 🙁 I end up with the white letter brigade, well no, thats unfair, they’re good customers but the work is all same ole same ole 😕 I really want to do something different, and I definately like the signgold.
Btw will that Signgold stuff conform to a vehicle like regular vinyl? I’ve been asked to do some fuel tanks, motorbike tanks to be exact, but they want a gold effect with their logo and some dubiously stretched skull-like graphics 🙄 Just wondered if the Signgold may be an option?
Cheers, Dewi

That looks so cool jill, jus love those letterhead fonts.

That’s real perdy, Jill. It’s terrifying cutting that Signgold stuff, I think.
Love those Letterheads fonts, I’ve got a couple but am going to treat myself to some more soon.Dewi, don’t want to butt in on Jill’s thread, but the Signgold is about 56 squids a metre at 380 over here!!!!!! Does that answer your question?

SignGold is tricky to work with and expensive, but it is a good product.

would love to have a go at using thats some day too, just never find the customers will to shell out.. (scots folk huh? :lol1: ) -
Great Work Jill,
Love the signgold product.
It is well over $100 per meter at 450mm here.
I was asked to do a boat rego for a wealthy businessman’s yacht some time back.
I told him to buy the material, and I’d cut it, which he did.
It cost him over $600 for 2 boat regos’ and a boat name. He didn’t even flinch. Was as nervous as hell cutting it though. Never had a customer want it since.

We sold 250 metres once to a bloke who was covering the roof of a temple. 250 blinkin’ metres!
I got nervous when I had to cut a line of text 5 metres long for an exhibition panel. You know what they say: measure about 150 times, cut once!

Nice work there Jill
Thanks for that link, was wondering why Sign Gold was so expensive

that looks cool, is it on the inside or ourside, can you get reverse signgold?
-
It is on the outside, Mandy.
You can get reverse-glass SignGold, it’s in MirraGild only (I think) which is pretty.
