• window etching top?

Posted by Glen Mathers on November 2, 2005 at 7:45 pm

Next week i’m about to start my 4th pub doing the window etch. On my last 3 the owner of the pub group just wanted the name of the pub in the etch, which was simple enough but now on this one he wants a fancy top, how is this possible? Something like a castle effect or along those lines, any ideas?
    Thanks.

do you mean he had a solid blanked out window in etch with the pub name weeded out centre, or vice versa?
if he wants a castle, just cut one from the centre like the name?

    or am i missing something?

I think what Glen means is a rectangular shape or whatever shape the window is with like turrets coming out of the top of the shape.

This can be done quite simply by putting up a signblank the size of your window, then addinng your panel maybe 3/4 of the size of window and weld you turret/ castle shapes into the solid etch panel.

Hope you understand this, i cant attach an image of what i men here.

The last one’s were fully etched with the name in the centre, but this time he wants the name in the middle again but instead of a boring top straight line, he wants a fancy design running along the top edge.

Ok so when you cut the name just do a turret effect at the top and cut at the same time not even a turret but what ever shape you decide squares waves etc. hope this helps like Andrew says can post pic here

I use Artcut 2005 which is very basic (i think) I’m not sure how to weld yet, never done it, i’m new to this game.
    I’ve got a week to practice 🙂
I’ll play around with the weld feature though.
    Thanks for your help guys
