same as cut vinyl, i add my mark-up, add my labour, and supply a quote based on that. i don’t know what you pay for materials so couldn’t really make a worthwhile comment on price.

    Hi Ade,

I would normally charge the same way for standard vinyl installations as frosting – work out cost of vinyl, time for design, cut, weed and carry tape and then on-site time.

For that size you’d need 3m of 610 frosting for the job to allow of error.

Depends on design but if simple allow 30 minutes, then I would allow 2 hours for cutting and weeding (always over estimate for worst case scenario).

    Application of frosting 1 hour.

Total cost of vinyl round up to £10/meter to allow for profit = £30
Total time = 3 and half hours @ your hourly rate say £25 per hour
Total Cost to you = £117.50

It’s up to you weather you think the job is worth more than this based on your specific knowledge.

Note – if its an intricate design take a spare one as frosting is very brittle and can crease easily leaving unsightly line also APPLY WET!!

Work on your ‘normal’ selling price + distance/time to travel, time cleaning glass (prep can be 30 seconds to a good 10 -15 mins if it’s covered in sellotape & blu-tac!) Do you want to cut spares (as insurance) on the possibility of a screw-up and rather than return to base you can just whip out the replacement…

Really, without the full breakdown on the job, your skill levels, confidence, and margins you work too – like Hugh said…"bit of a shot in the dark".

    Cheers all

    I had worked on £95 as an additional job to fitting 5m x 915 tray and a 1200 x 305 alu sign,

couldnt make mind up if it was a bit over priced based on the complete job!!

if i was doing window on own I would have been £120 ish

    cheers

chhers mate… if it dies off i can move it…
thing is, for some years now i have learned from feedback that some of the more experienced members do not like to mention pricing and the like on the open forums. whilst others are reluctant to help other that dont make any contribution to others or have any level of membership, so why should the group help them? type thing… so these are some of the reasons i thought ide create this forum. however, there is more to it than that for me. i am working on a project that will help everyone from the newbie to those with a expereince when it comes to pricig. it all boils down to the amount of feedback and activity this forum gets over the next couple of months for me to compile any sort of pricing structure. hard to explain, but will expand on it from post to post. 😀

Rob, I think this is an excellent opportunity for members, I just replied to John’s Gerber pricing but also logged on to the forum using a different browser to double check it was not open to the public. I wouldn’t want to share any pricing strategies with anyone else, best to keep it private.
