    Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to the whole printing thing, and I just signed up to be a gold member too.

I have an Espon Stylus pro 7600 ( 24″ ) and its great for indoor graphics. I did print on to inkjet vinyl and used a liquid laminate to increase durability for outdoors. Now i start getting more enquiries about full colour graphics on to cars and I need to do something because the running costs are high. I read somewhere on the forum that you can even get a printer that will cost £3.80 per m2 to print

Ok my questions are: Where can I get a relatively cheap bulk system for my Epson printer so I can cut down my prices? Also is there any way I can convert this printer to print on to normal vinyl with special inks?

If not, what is a budget wide format printer ( second hand ) that I can use to print full colour graphics on to vinyl, not the special inkjet vinyl.

I really appreciate your help. If you do currently print colour graphics for cars, I would like to hear from you.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
try Chris Bailey at QPS. If there’s a bulk system available, he’ll have it.. and the inks to go with it.
He’ll also know if it can print onto vinyl, etc for outdoor use. His number is 01704 897575.
    regards,
    John

Thanks John, i will definitelly call him.

What about a printer that can print directly on to vinyl, even wider than 24″?

What sort of work do you do?

For wide format printing onto vinyl there are 2 very popular machines, the Cadet and the Versacam. Do some searching on the boards as both of these machines have been discussed at length. Price wise you are looking at c£10,000

    Hi Daniel,
spoke to Chris earlier, said you’d called. He’ll also be able to help you find a decent new or second hand machine to print vinyl for outdoor use.

    John.
