why wont my version of corel make fonts go italic?

Obviously not a genuine Italice version on your system.the wonderful Gated Word does things to fonts to creat an Italic look even if and Italic version is not available.

Had this only last week on some litho artword a client sent using Comic Sans.

Look on something like myfonts.com do a search and see if an Italic version nof the font is available.

Just looked at my Corel 12 and Word, yeap, same problem.

Type the text in Corel, click on it so that you get a <-> arrow at the top centre of the text, and slide to the right, this will give the effect of italics (tried it with arial and it worked spot on).
