Do a "test print" (on control panel) and post that so we can see the problem

I normally have have a problem with cmyk on jpgs, but get the best results on vector artwork with cmyk, I use colorip on an sp750.

    Your test prints look ok.

Can you just change the artwork over to RGB, I’m sure signlabs normally works in RGB so maybe that’s the problem.
Also the Roland print mystery book says to use RGB for the best colour gamut.

your test prints show a bad set of jets some are deflected they should be evenly placed lots of cleaning to do. are the pumps working correctly

thanks Steve just ran the same test in rgb still have the slight banding
but the black is much better when i was trying to set it at rgb unless i altered the slides a bit it would just revert back to cmyk

    sales talk ?.

it makes colours by putting another colour on top of another if the jets are not in alignment how can it do this plus how can it fill in the passes if a lot of jets are deflecting away fron where the ink should go.

a really good cleaning job normally sorts it but it may be showing signs of pump problems.

I thought the test print wasn’t to bad, should see mine 😮

The black does look like it’s got a lot of deflections all in the same areas, this won’t help with banding but I thought your problem was with the colours looking washed out not banding.

the black is much better in rgb other colours are improved but still have the lines running through might be time to get the engineer to get it all even
it hasn’t been run that much since new maybe that’s the problem now needs its 500 mile service been cleaned regular and the test print everyday
i have done a fair few large prints and they seem fine
    and banners are great

How many passes are you doing to print 4? or 8?

also slow the head down for best results 500 550

Have you tried altering the media feed calibration on the profile properties – job defaults – printer option – advanced?

hi dave i am set on default
what would you advise as a test to see if it will improve

Try -1% and see if it helps.

It’s all a bit trial and error with it.

I’m with Chris on this one.

I’d suggest you have a pump problem personally.

Certainly blocked jets, which could be caused by the caps being blocked and not draining waste away well enough,

dave and derick you can see if the media calibration is ok on the test print cos the head second pass of the test print is the calibrated distance set in the machine and the printed lines are spaced ok at the middle point.
if the feed was set to high then there will be a visible gap at the middle point or overlapping if set to minus. this can be used as a quick check when changing between very thin materials and banner type thick stuff.

the main use of this is on long prints say 3000mm of different thickness materials you can archive the correct length.
next time you print something long check the length you may be surprised as to how far out it can be.

dont want to correct people but trying to stop you barking up the wrong tree.
