  • why is my graphtec plotter keep going off scale please?

We’ve just loaded in some ‘Silver Sparkle paper’, positioned the rollers in the correct positions (under the blue), locked the lever, press <ENTER> and it proceeds to measure the width (418) but then shows OFF SCALE. This message disappears after a second or two.

Are we doing something wrong or is this because the vinyl is so reflective?

    Cheers

Hi All, bought a Graphtec ce5000, running from CorelDraw 12.

I think I set it all up OK, but I kept getting the Off Scale message. Adjusted plot area, checked the orientation of design/output, messed around with it all to the point of loosing track and now I get nothing but the fan start up when sending a file through – I actually miss the Off Scale message now.

Been through the manual, resorting to asking for directions – you know how desperate a guy is when it comes to that.

Anyone know of a reset and setup walkthrough for s designer moving in to vinyl?! Appreciate the time all.

    Hi Steve

Did you make sure rollers are under BLUE marker as in top post.

    Just a thought mate

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for getting back. yep, followed all the setup instructions, rollers fit within the outer blue positioning markers (appreciate the thought though!)

I initially got a file to go through, text and vector. The text cut OK until the Off Scale messages, no vector graphic at all. The blade started in the middle of the sheet which I’ve put down to an origin issue or a design v page orientation issue?

I spent a couple of hours going through threads – tomorrow I’m gonna try running a file as: objects with no fill, 0.01mm line width. I’m then going to uninstall all drivers and try again.

Appreciate any other ideas UKSB (other than getting on a course of some sort – sole trader, 2 kids, no time!)
