Typical Hispanic country though, motorist completely ignoring the pooch.

(stupid dog though, risking its life for some road kill)

Really felt for the wee dogs there.

Was kinda thinking what Peter said…we as a nation of dog lovers see something other than a stray dog / potential roadkill.

S’pose it’s a bit like pigeons for many motorists here….wouldn’t go out of my way to hit them – but shed no tears as it goes whaaa-bummpitty-thump-bump on the underside of the car.

I’ve seen a few escaped pet dogs hit on motorways / DC’s and it’s never nice…especially if the distraught owner was chasing after it.

I’m a bit of a softy when it comes to most critters and would never allow them to suffer needlessly. Have had to dispatched some wild animals with non-recoverable injuries at the road side (hit by previous drivers)…rather than just leave them…

    Pretty amazing to watch…

Some people over here don’t even stop to help people in the road, so the chances of them helping dogs is less.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I had tears watching that. Very upsetting. 🙁

Dogs have an incredible capacity to love and be loved, given the right circumstances. Dog also grieve. What the dog did was display a strength of character we find rare in most humans.

Sad part is he was probably captured and thrown in a dog pound, never to be seen again.

    🙁

    Very moving Harry.

Likewise, as John did, I posted on our site. Not a dry eye in the house.
