I would think that afer you have used 7 for a short time you will not want or need to go back to 4.95. I started with 5 and upgraded through to 7,
I know the text layout feature in 4.95 was avilable in v5 but then cadlink ditched it in 6 (ithink)
the other thing to think about is once you have opened a file in 7 i dont think you will be able to open it with 4.95 (A

I was just thinking about running it alongside till all the teething problems are sorted, that was a new one about not being able to use the files again

Pete, you can leave 4.95 on your old PC swap the dongle no problems. The demo version of 7.1 needs XP to run as well as the full program.

Brian – I thought you had to hand the old dongle in when upgrading to a later version. Presumably the latest dongles are USB devices whereas the older windows 98 dongle plugged into the printer port so would someone updgrading now have two dongles they could use?

Phil, you can still use the parallel port dongle with Signlab 7.1.

If you want to swap to a USB dongle you have to send your old dongle back plus part with £75+vat. So most people stick with their old dongle.
