Singlab is on version 1 build 3 I think. Becky make sure fonts are installed for Signlab and that tt fonts are installed with Windows, if you are using Corel 9/10 onwards Font Navigator which was supplied with it is ideal. With Corel press F8 while starting Corel and accept factory default workspace – try import again. If you do decide to reinstal Corel, uninstal first and manually delete Corel folder, reboot then reinstal. good luck.

Nah Dew, It’s just that Christmas is coming and he’s too tight to buy cards.

I have never fully understood your loathing for Corel, Outline. I absolutely love it (not in a sexual way, of course). My only complaint is the outline/contour tool. (ver 9). Apart from that, it does all I need very well at a relatively bargain price. All down to preference I s’pose. It’s just that your preference is rotten. 😉

    Hello Becky,

The first thing to do is upgrade to build 3, if you still have an issue give me a description of the steps you are taking before it crashes and what OS you are running.

    Best regards

How do I check to see if I`ve got build 3?

I`ve only just bought the software, shouldn`t it be the latest build anyway???

I`m running xp service pack 2.

    type in text.
    high light text
    flip down fonts folder
move down font to find desired font.
    oops its crashed.

    Hey Becky,

To find your SignLab version just go to: Help > About SignLab and then press letter “R”. Your build info will pop up.

If you press “F1” instead of “R” you can make the program crash.

Dale I have reported the crash, FYI any crashes in Signlab are regarded as urgent auotmatically.

Becky, Does it crash regardless of fonts ?

It sounds like the font database is corrupt, the first thig to try is go to install fonts and click on the reset button. Then when it has finished click search now and then install all and see if that fixes the problem.

If it still fails I will e-mail you a clean database and then reinstall from scratch.

admin-edit= please keep all support questions and answers on the boards.

    😀

Dave- I’m sure I could find a few more for you. 🙄

I’ve always been impressed with how responsive Cadlink has been to improving their product – I like the proactive attitude.

    How about this one.

Make a custom toolbar and float it, then exit Signlabs 7 and then reopen, toolbar gone. Bit anoying when you’ve just spent 15 mins initially setting it up.

I reported this ages ago (about 2 months ago) via my reseller and 2 builds later the bug is still there.

I see what you mean when floating, not a problem if new toolbar fixed though.

I dont think this was ever reported back to Cadlink.

I have stuck it in the bugs database now.

Brill, my reseller must not have reported it back then. Makes you wonder why you go via some resellers if there not going to offer the support.

There are lots of ppl with issues running XP SP2 and certain dongled softwares..

you may have to remove XP SP2 or goto the signlab site and make sure you have all teh patches..

I’m running good old Win 2000 pro Curt, with all latest updates.

Never felt the need to upgrade to XP just happy to have a comp that doesn’t crash (very often anyway) used to use 98 😕

Have had some issues with Signlabs restarting the computer when editing text, The comp will suddenly restart just when I click an icon, not done it for a while.

    Hi uk sign board…

Regarding the problem Exporting a flexisign drawing as an *.AI file and then attempting to open in corel 11 or 12.

I’ve found that if you open the *.AI file created in Flexisign into Adobe Illustrator and then Export it again as Illustrator version 8.0 It will open in most versons of Corel

Hope this helps you people out
