  • why does my vinyl keep running off track please?

OK I’ve had my Graphtec CE3000-60 for over a year now but lately i’ve not been able to cut more than a foot of vinyl without it running off by a mm or 2

It runs asmuch as an inch for each meter and it’s starting to be a pain in the ass

I’m thinking that the cutting strip has worn away that much that it’s causing a problem

Before I get a new one does anyone else have any ideas (I’ll get a new one either way but would rather know first)

    Cheers

Have the pinch rollers gone hard/shiny allowing the vinyl to slip?

John, first thing I would have said would be either the rollers or the cutting strip. Have you checked and cleaned the rollers? Do any of the rollers seem to be a bit lose? Put a bit of scrap vinyl under each of them and try pulling it, if it seems easier on one side than the other then one roller is driving more than the other causing the vinyl to track off.

Just thought of something else, how do you align your vinyl? Do you use the bar at the front at all ? Check this is still tight at both ends because if the screw has come lose at one end then the bar will lift a bit at one end and you will never actually get the vinyl straight to start with.

The tracking on our Summa gradually got worse over a long period of time and it turned out this was cause by worn pinch rollers – Replacing them cured the problem.
