are you pre feeding enough vinyl so its not pulling on the roll.

also you have reversed the set up command from rear set to front set by the sounds of it.

    Same cutter

On the rare occasion I get position alarm it’s before I start cutting
    – always took it to mean the pinch rollers weren’t lined up under the blue lines correctly!

When you load the media, before you press enter make sure your set to roll 2 on the lcd display (will only measure the width) roll 1 will measure the length of the roll too!

I’m no expert but fingers crossed it’s as basic as that.

Hi, I have just spoken to my hubby who is a Graphtec engineer and he said that if you are trying to cut from a heavy roll such as a 50m full roll then the cutter you have does not have the power to pull straight from a tightly wound roll therefore giving you the error message. What you need to do is unwind some of the roll before cutting so that the rollers are pulling a loose piece of vinyl. I hope this makes sense. You will need to keep a nice loose piece of vinyl behind the cutter when its cutting from any big heavy roll of vinyl.
